Surprised that this thing will hold as tight as it does. Follow directions and wet the cups and put on flat surface, flip the latches and you can sit on it, BUT it will slowly let go until after a few hours it will fall off the wall so keep it freshly stuck if using it intermittantly.

Thank heavens for this brilliant group of products. When my health went south and I needed assistance in the shower, I couldn't afford to redo my bathroom and the surround wouldn't allow for handles etc to be drilled into the material. These items based on suction cups are wonderful. They come in all shapes and sizes. You do need to be mindful to check them each time you get ready to shower or bathe to make sure they are still firmly attached, but taking them off and reattaching them is the easiest thing in the world.

each suction cup must be stuck to its own square of tile for it to work. if you're pushing down on it as leveragae, it works. that's why i gave it 5 stars. it works as intended for some leverage, just not a substitute for stee rods. use as instructed by its packaging. not strong enough to hang onto with all of your might, unless you're a real lightweight though.

i like the suction indicators that show you the individual cups are properly attached. Since the unit can be bent to a variety of angles, there is a better chance that you can find a position where the 3 cups all fit properly on a tiled wall. My unit is still less than a month old, but it feels very solid. i also like the fact that you can set the grip sections such that it is easy to hang on to in both a horizontal and vertical position at the same time.
