Check your kids draw weight before purchase

Lowest weight was still a bit too much for my 6 year old daughter to pull back so we are setting this one to the side until she gets a bit stronger. Got her the Bear Scout to start with and that works for her for now. Can't wait for her to pick this back up because it's pretty amazing for a child's bow. Definitely not a toy. A 7 and 8 y/o boy also had a really tough time trying to pull this back and both were unsuccessful. If I thought about it sooner I would have tested her draw weight with a "luggage scale" before hand. Regardless, this is a good bow. Just make sure your kid can pull it back.
Good beginner bow for the price

For the price, it does what it claims. The draw strength is barely adjustable. The draw length is not adjustable. It's a step up from the Bear 'Scout' model but it is still just a beginner model. My son is almost 9 and he's struggling to pull it back, so be aware that it is definitely more difficult than the 'Scout' model and it weighs more as well. The next step up in quality is a huge jump in price so be prepared.

We bought two of these for our Boys, The 10 year old has no problem drawing the bow however he preferred I let the pull off to about 20 lbs. The 8 year old has a little trouble drawing at 15 lbs but is getting better at it. The build quality is Good, what you would expect from Bear. They are a little on the heavy side. These bows come with two 26" arrows you may want to pick up extras. I ordered 28" fiberglass practice arrows and they work fine. There is no way to weave a sight into the string because it is coated, I wound some thread around the string instead. For a children's bow this thing has some power. Definitely not a toy that you turn your kid loose with without a little instruction and at least minimal supervision.

This is a great starter bow. We haven't used this one yet as it is a Christmas gift but We got my son the orange one for Christmas 2 years ago at a brick & mortar retailer and my daughter actually fell in love with it so we got her this purple one. It is really well made and heavy duty. Pick up some extra field tip arrows and a target. Hours of outdoor fun. I would recommend the seller/shipper package better. Delivery companies can be brutal and a half taped box and 1 pc of paper wadding is not sufficient.
Short draw length

Can't say to much positive about this bow.
Bought for my 9yr old daugter and found that the draw length is to short. Really that's the biggest issue with this bow. For the weight that needs pulled even at it lowest setting is to much for a small child. A kid that can pull the weight back will find the draw length to be to short. It's a losing combination. Draw should be all the way back to corner of mouth.

The arrow rest is nice, the site is useless without a peep, and this bow cannot accept a peep sight with its metal coated string. Aiming the old fashioned way looking at the tip of the arrow is the only reliable option.

Honestly, this bow looks good, but look elsewhere.
