Key features

  • OFFER: 5-Pack of Hand-Blown Clear Glass Refillable, Long-Lasting Tea Light Candles Including a Small Plastic Funnel for Effortless Refilling. Dimensions are approximately 1-1/2 inches wide by 1-3/4 inches High and may vary by 1/16". Firefly tea lights are the same width as standard tea lights; however, they are taller. Be aware that if the height of the flame touches or is extremely close to a solid surface (e.g., a teapot), smoke and soot will occur.
  • HOW TO USE: Use Our Clear, Unscented Liquid Reusable Tealights in UCO Candle Lanterns, Essential Oil Warmers, Oil Burners, a Glassybaby, Diffusers, Morrocan Lanterns, Tea Light Holders, Menorahs, Lotus Candles, UCO Mini Lanterns, UCO Micro Lanterns, Wine Bottle Tealight Candle Holder - Great Alternative to Disposable Wax Tea Light Candles. One of the best features is that you can control the height of the flame and the amount of heat just by increasing or decreasing the exposed wick.
  • RECOMMENDATION: Our Firefly Tealight Candle holds about 1/2 Ounce of Fuel. Burn Time is VERY DEPENDENT on the Type of Fuel You Purchase and the Height of the Wick. Therefore, in our experience, you can expect anywhere from 3 to 4 hours of burn time using Firefly Fuels as directed (SEE VIDEO). If a longer burn time is critical, I would suggest purchasing a Firefly Votive or Pillar Candle. Be sure to review our USER GUIDE PDF under Technical Specifications on this page below.
  • COLOR YOUR LAMP OIL: Purchase Separately Firefly Colored Lamp Oil to Add a Touch of Color to Your Decor. Just a tiny bit will turn your tealights blue, green, purple, aqua, orange, pink or whatever color you like because we provide the 3 primary colors - red, blue and yellow!
  • RECOMMENDED FUEL: Fuel is not included. We Suggest Using Firefly CLEAN Lamp Oil or Firefly Paraffin Lamp Oil. Which One to Choose? Well, our in-house testing showed Firefly CLEAN Lamp Oil burned significantly longer than our paraffin lamp oil and it costs less. Your Choice. Please note, we DO NOT recommend using a flammable fuel such as kerosene or any kind of vegetable oil like olive oil. Great alternative to a kerosene lantern.

Awesome Lamps

These little things are awesome!!!! I purchased these for a friend and he just loves them. The Firefly CLEAN Lamp Oil - 32 oz. - Smokeless & Virtually Odorless - Clean Burning Paraffin Alternative - use in Oil Lamps, Hurricane Lanterns and Candles - Indoors / Outdoors on Your Patio. I also purchased burns clean and looks great. These are awesome little lights, Just wish they would burn longer and you didn't have to fill them so often, however only so much you can do with the small size.
Precisely that for which I spent considerable time searching.

I fashion out of wood different configurations tea light-sized holders. I use the solid wax tea lights on occasion, but to add a nicer aesthetic, the oil tea lights, for me, are the way to go. I ordered from a different vendor very similarly sized oil containers as these from Firefly. The glass containers were fine, but the company included a synthetic material wick, which just melted when lit. I went on the search for suitable replacements, and finally found Firefly. Their oil tea light are perfect size. The woven cotton wicks fit not only the Firefly oil tea lights, but the others glass containers that I ordered from the other company. There was included in the shipment very useful informational guides on how to get the best performance out of the oil lamps, which fuel is best to use (and which fuels could actually be dangerous), and more. The pricing was nearly identical I will use up those from the other company up, and resupply from Firefly.
Not ideal for restaurants...

What I thought would be a good idea in my pub hasn't fared so well. First, the wicks are too big to be able to thread back into the tips of they come out. You cannot get them back in once they come out. Second, if the wick is out more than 1/16" at the top, the flame is huge. Too high to be used on the tables or its distracting to my guests. So you resort to pulling the wicked down til it barely is above the tip. Then it's ok. But later when you refill the base, you have to try and pry the wick out and pull it up. The only way I manage to do that is to use a thumbtack to pry it up. Then grab and pull...aftet a few tries. Doing this for 15 of them daily is a chore so I won't be using them again. They will end up on Craigslist this week.
Saves in the long run.

I bought these for several purposes. To replace the need for buying candles, reduce space, lower cost of use, for power outages emergency lighting, and pleasure uses like ambiance and aromatherapy. I bought an essential oil burner for the coffee table since a corded unit is not practical. Was disappointed the first day because the fuel caused black soot to form under the oil burner I bought for ten bucks. Tried a short candle since I had no tea lights and no black soot. This tea light they call it is taller then a regular tea light candle. So, after I cleaned the black soot off ( very hard to clean off sinks ECT./ Very toxic smelling. The opposite of what you want an aroma therapy burner for), I filled slightly more than half with olive oil. The rest with standard smokeless lamp oil. Mixed it by shaking it. Then adjusted the wick to about 1/16". It then omitted a low flame with no soot and worked well for an aroma therapy burner plus lasted longer. About 6 hours. After using up all the wax candles I have, I can reduce space with just the small box it comes in. Use, the gallon of fuel I already have and cut down on plug in's. I put my plug in on a motion sensor. Why have it running when I'm mostly not there at work? The scented essential oils are pricy per one small bottle, but you are only using a few small drops at a time mixed with water, which last a long time. Good candles. Multiple uses. Saves space, money, and waste from used plug in bottles and candle glass jars.
Love this item!

After looking thru many listings on Amazon and elsewhere for refillable tea lights that will fit in either the UCO Micro or Mini Candle Lanterns, I came across this product from Firefly Fuel, Inc. It does exactly what they say it is designed to do, and it properly fits both UCO options mentioned. And, as I already saw in another review, you can control the amount of light by how much wick you allow to protrude above the metal wick holder. I have discovered that about 1/16 inch is the right balance for flame height and burn time per filling. That gives me about 4 hours per filling with brand-X fuel. I am going to try the Firefly Clean Oil to see if that will improve the burn time.

My one reservation for use with this product would be backpacking. For that application, I feel that tea light candles are still a better choice. That is because there is no way to prevent the oil in the glass chamber from spilling, if it got turned sideways or upside down. And I think everyone would agree that spilling oil all over your pack contents would not be cool. So, no problem. Just use tea light candles for backpacking. But for any use other than for backpacking (such as car camping, multiple candle lanterns around a permanent campsite, sitting around the fire pit, ambience in the home, etc.), we prefer this product 100% of the time.
