Too sticky and once they land on the floor or carpet they get covered in dust and are useless. I didn't notice much difference in sound either when using them on drums or cymbals

These are slightly stickier than other brands that I've tried, which I like. I have a 22" Zildjian medium ride that I bought new many years ago. I put it away because it had too much wash and no matter how lightly I played it was overpowering. I put two of the Vater dots on and the excessive wash was gone leaving behind the perfect jazz tone.

I bought buzz kill gel, not extra dry gel. I does great job dumping, but it is too slimy and i found it gross. Also, the small little larger than the quarter coin size dumps too much, you only need one for one drum, but I want something less effective; so that I can adjust dumping by 1-2-3, instead of 1 dumping=more the enough.
Anyway, I am returning one of two I bought (unopened), but ended up with one pack of gross slime gels.

These do the job well, but I wish they came with a method to pack them when transporting the drums other than two sheets of stiff plastic...a good display method but not really all that easy to use and store. Wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a sturdy box storage system.
