I'm almost happy that my old lights got broken and died various and sundry deaths. These are gorgeous! I can't wait to get the rest of them and get them all installed. The inserts are real glass, so I ordered an extra just in case of whatever may befall them. The panels are not secured in them, either and they all fell apart when I opened it the first time to pull the tab on the battery. I think before I install them on the posts, I'll caulk them into place so that replacing batteries isn't so precarious. They really are lovely though and totally worth the minor hassle.
Fits up to 4" post. Clear white, not 'warm', not too 'cold'. Quite bright for one tiny LED 'bulb'. Best price I could find.

The lights worked very well for as long as I had them. The light is quite bright for a single solar LED, and the plastic lenses are very clear showing the light is white white, not warm white - not a 'cold' blueish color either. The ones I had stayed lit most of the night after the first day of charging.
I bought two of these and tried them in containers on the south facing back porch for about three weeks before getting around to taking them out to the entrance fence. I then discovered I should have ordered the five inch size instead of this four inch one... Oops... My mistake. I cleaned them thoroughly and sent them back for a refund. If you need a four inch solar post light give this one a try.

The pictured application (sitting on top of a post) is clearly not the way this product was intended to be used. The "designer" intended the light to be installed on the included L-bracket because when you disassemble the lamp to secure the bottom plate to a post the unsecured glass panels fall out. The light is designed to be assembled upside down (or in zero gravity). You will have to secure the panels to the frame either with adhesive or tape (along the bottom edge where it can either be removed or isn't visible). You do have to disassemble the light to remove the strip from the battery, so be careful when you remove the four screws, the panels will fall out.
We'll see how the light holds up over time. Other reviewers indicated that the colors in the plastic "stained glass" fade pretty quickly. I'll watch for that.

After 15 months, these lights are still running strong!

Purchased these lights back in October, I held off on writing a review until these post caps were exposed to a full New England Winter.
Installation: I received two lights. Rechargeable batteries are included as are two wood screws to mount onto the top of a wood post. I screwed to the top of a 4x4 wood post after initially drilling a pilot hole. Please note that a 4x4 does not measure 4 inches x 4 inches. The true measurement is 3.5 inches x 3.5 inches.
Durability: I installed these caps at the base posts of my outdoors stairs 5 months. The caps are exposed to over 4 feet of snow, rain, sub-zero (Fahrenheit) temperatures, sun... pretty much all the New England elements. Lights show no sign of fading, cracking or wear thus far. Very happy with this product.
Illumination: The led's throw very little light. On a dark night it will illuminate the bottom step and little more. That said, I really bought these more for aesthetics and to provide a little light at the end of the path where the stairs begin.
Overall: Spent less than $10 and these lights stood up to the winter months. Zero complaints.
UPDATE: It's now been 15 months, currently 6 degrees outside and these are still going strong. My only complaint is that the battery housing is a little loose and a strong knock will cause the lights to go slightly dim. I expect I can fix this by putting a thin piece of foam between the batteries and housing cover. But overall, any use I get out of these lights from here on out is gravy.

I got this light more than a year ago, but decided to post a review now for reasons you can see in the pictures. The light has sat outside in a partially protected spot. Almost all color is gone. What isn't is dull and dingy. The stained glass is not glass, or even colored plastic. It's clear with an applied film.
The pictures speak for themselves.
