I think this is a suitable art easel holder for the money. It collapses small and will be adequately portable in your art bag. It's not built for rough use; the hinges that allow it to fold are lightweight but do the job. The center post that sets the angle of the easel is not entirely centered but it is a minor issue.
Made for smaller easels: I have a 24 x18 art board that I tried on this and (in portrait mode) the top leans too far back for the fold-out, smooth, ledge to hold it and it fell over because there is no lip on that ledge to stop it. So, I added a small stick-on bumper to the ledge to serve this purpose, and that worked. Still, this is not a large format easel. A 12 x 18 board fits perfectly.
I'd recommend it if you are on a budget or need a spare, portable, art surface holder.
