My first ever sparking rod thingy. Was always curious if I could start a fire with one and take it camping. We'll after scraping the finish off which took a few scraps this thing puts out some nice sparks. I ripped up a paper towel and within 3 tries had a fire going on my countertop... probably don't try that but I was excited. Next day in the garage I sharpened my axe and made some shavings from a 2x4 and started throwing sparks at the pile... probably took 5 minutes of trying then making finer shavings but then strike and I get a little flame going! Pretty confident I could start a fire now as long as I have dry wood and my knife or axe and this spark rod!
