This is a great product!

I live on the first floor of apartment complex in the city and there is a lot of foot traffic through my building. My girlfriend and I sleep with some white noise when we go to sleep so I've always been worried about someone breaking in through the front door. Now, here is why I like this product.

Pros:
-Easy to adjust height (you should only need to do this once if you use the same door). It's very intuitive
-Rubber stopper on the bottom keeps it from sliding which is a must
-Easy to set up and take down. I set this up at night and it takes maybe 10 seconds to grab and set up, it takes the same time to take down and put away. My girlfriend has no problem setting it up or taking it down either (not that it matters but I thought I'd mention it).
-It really works! I stepped out of the apartment, had my girlfriend set this up and keep the door unlocked. I then tried to force my way into our apartment and the door maybe moved 2/8th an inch. There was no way I was going to get in.

Cons:
-The rubber stopper on the bottom is detachable so when you pick it up sometimes it falls off. Just reach down, pick it up, and put it back on. Not a big deal.

For some peace of mind and some extra security this is worth the money and I highly recommend it.

Only reason for not giving a 5 star is no easy way to really know how will hold up to "real" need. Plunking it under the front door handle at night is easy and does add a little feeling of security so worth the price to us. We have a decent lock (with extended strike plate and 3 inch screws into both that strike plate and the hinges) but a "bumpable" lock based on what we spent for it :( so wanted one more step to assure the door does not open while we're sleeping.

I bought two of these security poles for my front and back door. I had a scare with someone knocking on my door and saying they were my daughter's name and wanting me to open the door. The person even tried my door to see if it was unlocked, she had a weapon that she was going to try and break my door window or the lock on the door, or my head if I opened the door. The police recommended these security poles because it prevents someone from shouldering your door off the jam to break it in. With these poles propped under the door handle and the rubber stuck at an angle tightly on the floor there is not enough give for someone to beat the door in, unless they use a lot of weight behind them, and you would hear the pounding first. I use them every night and I feel secure now, and I also have an alarm, but I don't always activate the alarm during the day, but these you can use during the day and feel secure when at home alone. I highly recommend them as they are made well and seem very durable. They were delivered in a couple of days.

We've been using this for the past two months on the front door of our rental house which is a bit flimsy. Bar itself seems firm and holds well when used on a hardware floor. Haven't noticed any marks on the floor and seems quite secure. I have tried opening the door unlocked and as advertised it does add to the security. Will it prevent a kick in? Maybe, I'm not sure. Better than nothing. Great product when you have a rental and can't add on the security plates, change deadbolts or the frame of a door. Not sure why you would use this on a sliding door since a dowel would do the same thing and is a lot cheaper but it's great for the front.

This product works. We bought two and tested them on our doors, and they wouldn't budge from the outside. They are fully-adjustable and easy to use. Kick in the bottom for a nice snug fit. After we moved out of our apartment, and bought a proper alarm system and Medeco locks, we no longer needed these for door bars, but I removed the black door handle hook attachment (a nice feature) and re-purposed them as bars that prevent my windows from being slid open from the outside. The adjustment holes are finely graded, so I was able to get a snug fit.
