First of all, please use gloves with assembling this!!! The wood stain on all of the pieces smells very strong for one, and it stains your skin terribly!

The first step is to fit all of the base pieces together. It's easy until you have to snap the last piece in to complete each circle (5 in total that make up the well). I snapped off a tip and had to use wood glue to adhere it. It is very hard to try and complete each ring. The way the ends of each piece are cut, they are designed to fit into each other diagonally. The angle is hard to get with the last piece! Ontop of that, I took another peraon's suggestion and put wood glue between the wooden rings before screwing in the sides. You definitely want to make it more secure before screwing the sides in!

I would say those two things are the hardest or worst thing about this product. Everything else was pretty straight forward and it makes an adorable wishing well!
Quality wood, but poor quality fasteners
Amazon CustomerMay 10, 2018
This wishing well planter is made of nicely stained cedar and the wooden components are of a decent thickness, but there are significant problems with the lack of fasteners to hold it together.

The base is composed of five layers, each made of eight cedar blocks that fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. There are no direct connections between the layers, and the only thing holding all of it together are five thin, finely threaded screws in each of the vertical bars that support the roof. So ten small screws in total holding together forty-two pieces. When I tried to move it after attaching the vertical roof supports, pieces were shifting and the entire structure was wobbly.

Also, the roof of the planter didn't fit flush and had only four undersized screws through the tips of two support arms to hold it in place. I wouldn't bet on it staying attached through even one season of storms.

As it arrives, it's just extremely flimsy and probably won't survive more than a year or two if you need to move it back and forth for winter storage. Now that I've added four 3/4 x 2 x 11 inch supports to the base and two 3/4 x 2 x 18 inch crossbars to the roof supports and replaced the garbage screws with quality stainless steel wood screws it feels like something that will hold up for years.

If you're moderately handy and feel like putting in a couple hours work, it's a worthwhile product. Just don't depend on it lasting if you build it with only the parts provided by the manufacturer.
Super Cute

It's super cute. It is on the smaller side and it's true, the dark stain on it will get your hands dirty while piecing it together. I don't know how it will last in a NY winter...crossing fingers a few years. IT is not the color pictured. It was too dark for my liking and literally spray painted the roof and the lightly painted the bucket to give it some contrast. The little gnomes added around it make an awesome little magical scene in our front lawn. I need to add some flowers to it but the photo was literally taken after I finished setting it up. Update: The roof did beautifully during the rain...it beaded right off...not sure what the wood is treat with but it's holding up nicely in the rain :)
Easy assembly. Did it all myself and I am ...

Easy assembly. Did it all myself and I am 79 so you can do it! It's beautiful and fits perfectly in my yard. Just one little piece of advice, there are no written instructions, only pictures, which is fine except for the roof. I found if you put the cross beams on the roof first you will save yourself the impossible job of putting them on when the roof is up! The screws go in at an angle so get that part finished, set it aside and continue on with the rest of the project. Then the roof is ready to screw on to the supports. It is very decorative after you get the plants in. I love it.

This was easy to put together and although I didn't like the color I did like the product.
