I so far have been very pleased with it
Eric Luoma•May 19, 2018
I purchased this carrier do to its versatility. I so far have been very pleased with it. When hauling bikes I have come up with a rigid foam separator to keep the bikes spaced using the top bars and then put the ratchet strap over the top of that to further secure the bikes down. It is light and generally very well made. I have reserved a star because the finish of the whole thing was a little off. Some of the hardware was mix matched there were a lot of metal shavings in the box as well as burrs on the carrier itself that I found with my hand pretty quick. I added the use of zip ties to further secure the bikes to the wheel holders as I don't hold much faith in the velcro straps. All and all so far pleased with the carrier.
Good Concept, Awful Quality

I had high hopes for this, and was sorely disappointed. The package arrived damaged, it had obviously had an impact on one side, with one of the rails bent, bowing in about 2 inches. I was able to bend this out fairly straight with a length of board and a hammer. The build quality is poor with several missing rivets, and several nuts and bolts were missing or mismatched. Here's the deal breaker for me... there was NO bike rack included!!! That was the whole reason I purchased this item. The box said "cargo tray bike rack combo", but there was no bike rack to be had. The cotter pins for the bike rack were there however! To add insult to injury...no instructions either. This is going back in the box. A waste of time and money.
Love this combo carrier!

Fantastic cargo carrier+bike rack combo! I chose this one over the steel black one even though this was more expensive, just because it was like 20 pounds lighter and I wanted to be able to put it on and off myself"¦ Which I am totally able to, and I always tell people I have no upper body strength so if I can do it pretty much anybody can :-) my son who is 11 help me put it together and it took us about 15 minutes for the cargo carrier and then I didn't use the bike rack for a few weeks and that only took about 10 minutes to put together"¦ One of the bike rack pieces did have a little screw/metal shard sticking up in the inside so my husband filed that down with a Metal file and then it slid right on. It's so easy to take on and off and very convenient. I bought some bungee cords to help secure the luggage but I am also going to buy one of those carrier bags just for peace of mind for our 11 hour road trip coming up...We had four suitcases strapped back there for a 5&1/2hour car trip and I was always worried one of them was going to fly off (but of course it did not!)
Paid for a new carrier, but was sent a busted used carrier

IT WAS SAD WHEN I OPENED THE PACKAGE TO REALIZE THE SENT ME A USED CARGO CARRIER (I bought and paid for a new one)!!!!!
My kids and I werr really excited to receive this item - I recently started biking with my family and this was to be the perfect item to get all our bikes to the trail + improve my general cargo capacity for everyday life. normally I'd instantly return this unacceptable item, but my kids and I have a biking trip planned and itd break their little hearts if we cancelled because we had to ship this carier back. I'm hoping the seller is reasonable and finds a way to compensate me for the fact they shipped me a used and defective product (I'll adjust my review if the seller complies).
THE 5 SIMPLE WAYS I COULD TELL ITS USED & DEFECTIVE:
1. It's physically damaged (picture attached of the pierced/punctured aluminum platform)
2. It has mismatching hardware (4 bolts total to bolt the carrier tube to the carrier platform... 3 bolts were 14mm and 1 bolt was 13mm. Pictures attached.)
3. It's missing the instruction manual (I mean, anyone with half-a-brain can assemble without the manual, but I had to resort to Google for the instruction manual to ensure I wasn't missing any additional pieces or crucial steps).
4. It's covered in dings, scratches, scuffs, and blemishes (I don't mind, it's gonna get dinged up anyways, but when you buy a "new" product you expect it to be... Well... you obviously expect it to be in new condition. Pictures attched).
5. Their is dirt/sand inside some of the (not fully enclosed) channels (the platform sounded like a rain stick when I picked it up and flipped it around... You could hear all the debris clicking & clanging as it rolled down each channel).

The place that builds and packages this appears to be a joke of a business
bill dyer•February 2, 2017
In the end it works just fine, but where this place comes from must be the most butt backward business on Earth. First package came missing all kinds of hardware. What a bummer that was. Here my little ones are waiting to take the bikes to the beach to go riding, and we couldn't all because someone packing boxes really just didn't care. Then i get the second. All the hardware is there, but rivets are put in places where the holes for the reflectors were intended, and areas needing rivets were empty and needed me to put hardware of my own in. Again, in the end, it works just fine, but I would never order from this manufacturer again.
