The good, the bad, and where does that piece go?
Dungjow•March 17, 2017
Ordering this product is the easiest part. It arrived sooner than expected, which is always good. It comes packaged as shown. Removing the contents inside, I noticed the mailman kept the squeegee. He must of needed it more than I did. I laid the vinyl skins flat over night. Next morning, taking all of the remaining contents to the table, I fired up my trusty mobile device to follow along to some online instructions on installing my protective skins. I follow instructions to a T. The only thing I find is how to buy another skin for my DS on their website site. I take to YouTube. Nothing real promising there ether. The task is simple.
Wet fingers. Remove from backing. Get skin wet. Place on device. Squeegee out remaining solution (thanks mailman.) Be happy.
Needless to say, I did the best I could. It's not the best. Although this isn't my first time with protective skin install, this is my first 3DS.
I leave a 3 review because it wasn't *easy *simple or *fun. Yes, your product does cover most of the device. That's if the skin will continue to stick after squeeging the solution over and over to remove. So, some pieces are missing. No video or word for word doesn't help the review I'm leaving. Appling may be a simple tasks for some, but this could be a nightmare for others. And then telling me to contact you before leaving anything less then a 5 star review is the last thing I'm going to do. We went for being honest with reviews and feedback to let me bribe my way into a 5 star review. No thanks. Will I buy again? Yeah, I guess. It is a good product. Just needs some polishing up is all.

They still make a great product
RobS•January 2, 2017
As the title says, Skinomi still makes a great product. I love their shields and always have. Even more now because I was an idiot and tried to save some money with my DSi XL a few years back.
So, eventually, the "cheap" screen protector got trashed, as protectors are supposed to do and, you guessed it, when I went to replace it, it trashed my screen. This was the entire REASON why I wound up having to get a 3DS XL in fact (the neighbors honestly came knocking because they thought someone had died).
So, yeah, no more cheap protectors for me.
The only minor quibble I have with this one of Skinomi's is that some of the holes are obviously for a different model of 3DS XL than the one I purchased. That doesn't make it a BAD product- just not quite the one that I probably should have gotten. Since it WAS a bit of a rush purchase, I honestly couldn't even say which was the new model- theirs or mine and, frankly, I'm not all that worried about it anyway. Just thought that I would mention it since someone might get one of these for more than just the screens.
Me? Given that my years old DSi only had a minor scratch on the corner of the outside cover on the night of his untimely passing, I was only worried about the screens anyway so, I'm happy.

good fullbody screen protectors but not very beginner friendly skinomi's instructions don't help much

great fullbody skin. It was one of the hardest skins i have applied ,and i even had a rubber squeegee from back when they would send them with stuff. If you have never done any water apply stuff this may be very difficult.
It almost covers everything but for the home button area so it has a very good coverage. I did use more water then they supplied you can easily refile the spray bottle. When you are squeegeeing out the water try you best to avoid the ports and button areas to push out the water,Then soak it up with the cloth. I would suggest a hair dryer on low to help the edges dry quicker and on the hinge and rounded corners. also would let it sit for 12-24hrs just to make sure any water that got in drys. as with a full body shield with this many parts there are many chances to get water inside

Bubble Free Magic!
Dave Herrera•August 28, 2016
If you have a new 3DS XL and want to show it off, without the bulk, then this is for you! First and foremost, I'm TERRIBLE at applying these things. In fact, I've come to realize and accept that there will be bubbles. When I was all done with the application, yup, there was bubbles everywhere. I mean, my wife even said, this is the worse one you've done yet!
I set it down, disappointed in the fact that I just wasted money. Anyway, the next day I noticed there was about 30% less bubbles than when I finished. The day after that, another 20% reduction. Long story short, after about 3 days, ZERO bubbles where noticeable. Seriously, I'm as shocked as anyone, but this thing WORKS! A+ Love it and will buy again for my next 3DS.

Great Product, poor QC, but Amazing Customer Service!

********UPDATE**********
I had contacted Skinomi's Customer Service regarding the issues, and they are AMAZING!! They have great communication, and they sent out replacements immediately. I changed my rating from a 2-Star to a 4-Star because of the great product and customer service.
Quality control may be lacking, but their Customer Service Dept. more than makes up for it. I would highly recommend this product.

Received and installed it on my Nintendo 3DS XL Red Edition (Newer version). If you've installed protective skins before on other devices, this one should be relatively easy.
Installation Tips:
- Wash your hands with warm soapy water prior to installation to prevent leaving finger prints on the sticky side of the screen
- Spray your fingers with the solution prior to picking up each piece so they don't stick to your fingers
- With edges and curvatures, wait until the adhesive side dries a bit more, then using a microfiber cloth gently smooth the cover on.
- Before squeegeeing the skin, check to make sure no dust or particles are trapped under the skin. If there are, gently lift the skin up and apply copious amounts of solution to "wash" it away. Reapply skin.
- Using a microfiber polishing cloth, put firm pressure on all surfaces to remove excess water and trapped bubbles.
- Leave to dry for 24-36 hours.
Pros:
- Warranty
- Surface dries without any bubbles after a period of time
- Surface feels "harder" than other traditional skins
- Adhesive is very strong making it difficult to remove the skin by accident or on purpose.
Cons:
- Poor QC - my skin came missing the silicone Squeegee and the top screen skin for the 3DSXL
I have already emailed the company regarding the matter, and am waiting to see what their response is. I will change my Star-rating accordingly.
