Fantastic piece.

I was very impressed with the Triceratops, so I ended up getting this kit. The detail was amazing. My pieces fit together really nicely, but did need a little bit of putty for sculpting in a few spots, but I have been building models for a while so that was expected. This piece is HUGE! You will not be disappointed by it that is for sure.
Better than the Tyrannosaur!

First off, I don't know whether this or the Tyrannosaur kit were released first, but if this one came second, they learned quick! My example was rather soft and flexible but that's to be expected, the texture is good, the detail is great, and unlike the Tyrannosaur, the entire kit is essentially dovetailed into itself, making the seams on the limbs a breeze to fill and fix up! That said, it being softer vinyl than my rex certainly made this kit harder to handle once painted until I flat-coated it. Then the paint was sealed well enough not to come off on my hands while working with the model. It really fits together well, and even better, the right foot has a large d shaped peg that slots into the base for a very firm anchor! With the Trex kit I had to pin the rex's feet to the triceratops and to the base, now the whole kit and kaboodle topples instead of just the rex itself. The spinosaur snaps right in and stays upright easily, very very nice touch in my opinion! In fact, most of the individual parts are like that. The xiphactinus (fish) is pegged to the base, the log behind the spinosaur is pegged. Overall this is a great kit, and I managed to get mine for a steal of a price. If you like dinosaurs, it's pretty hard to go wrong with this kit, it's a good size, though not huge, so it fits on my little shelf, it's easy to shape and size, fits well, has great detail, and just as with the Rex kit, finished quite nicely, though unlike my effort with the Rex, I like the spinosaur at a distance (with the rex I painted I feel it looks kind of poorly finished unless I get close to it, that's my paintjob though.)
With so little known about this particular animal, I decided to paint mine to resemble a nile crocodile, because it's what I felt like painting it like when I realized how few desert style colors I had in my paint racks.
