Excellent check valve for water lines.

As far as check valves go, this is a very good one at an excellent price. Other reviews have faulted this valve for the wrong reasons: It has the VERY common Female Pipe Threads at both ends -- this is NOT the same as Garden hose threads. The threading is cut very well and should not leak if sealed with lots of teflon tape or (my favorite) RectoSeal. As with all brass fitting tighten but DO NOT over-tighten as the brass threading can be damaged. No amount of tightening will fix a poor job of sealing.
The valve easily opens if you blow into the correct end. There is some amount of flow restriction, as you would expect with this type of device, but it is not excessive. It makes a nearly perfect seal in the reverse direction.
This is a very good check valve for water in the 15 to 125 psi range. I have not tested it with high pressure air or low pressure fuel gases like propane or natural gas.

My house has a hot water recirculation system. A check valve was never put on the system, so you would never get really hot water unless the pump was running. This solved the issue! Even with the pump off, I will eventually get hot water now. Took me a few years to figure this out. I feel bad for previous two owners.
