I can't separate the 2 tools, we use it as a challenge at family barbques. So far no one has won the challenge! Maybe someday we will be able to separate them and garden.

Cute tool and neat concept, butI had to whack it really hard about twenty times with a hammer (braced on a concrete step) to get the two halves to separate. Needless to say, I won't be putting them back together again - in fact I think I'll fill the little slot with epoxy so nobody else does, either. That being said, though, once separated the two tools are very sturdy. I mean, all my hammering didn't bend the steel or crack the plastic. And it will be nice to have a little saw, knife, and root-digger-outer-thingy handy with the trowel and fork. The grip is comfortable, too. Especially considering I hurt the heel of my hand trying to hammer the two halves apart! :D
Very Difficult to seperate tools

Very hard to pull the two tools apart, also very hard to retract the small tools in handles. Would not purchase for an older person for gardening.
I was given this set as a holiday gift, had I purchased it I would be sending it back. Might look cool but really not useful.
