TapeTech's are great tools! I'm a commercial drywall finisher

TapeTech's are great tools! I'm a commercial drywall finisher, and use their line of tools a lot. I've been doing drywall for over 20 years and specialize in high level smooth wall and custom projects, so I speak from experience. They're on the pricier side of automatic taping tools, but their tools are reliable and do a quality job. Hard to put a price tag on that. I wasn't paid to write this, or offered anything. Just thought it might help someone who's on the fence...

I don't own this taper, but got the chance to use one recently on a job. I was pretty impressed with how it works and think it would be a good investment for someone who only does drywall.
How it works is pretty simple: you fill the tube with joint compound (we were using the premixed stuff, but you could definitely mix your own), load the tape, and then go. It dispenses the tape with the joint compound beneath it, and in a pretty nice bead if you move fast or slow. Note that it dispenses paper tape, not the fiberglas stuff some guys use for patching holes.
Having long done all my taped joints by hand, I was a bit skeptical about this sci-fi or steam-punk looking tool. But it was pretty nice to use on the hard-to reach ceiling joints in particular. I could see having one of these and just running it on the ceiling joints while another guy did the lower wall joints.
If you're looking for something new and a time saver, I think this could be a good way to go. However, note that it's not the kind of thing where you run it over the joint and are just 100% done. We ended up touching up the joints by hand afterward, just to get them perfect.
Note that these guys also sell various finishing boxes (I think that's what they call them) for cleaning up the seams. Those also run on extendo-arms so you can just whip along each joint to finish it up.
