Holds my gear in place very securely

I'm the bassist and vocalist in a weekend band and absolutely HATE music stands on a stage. However there are still times when it's helpful to have words in front of me while playing. I also have a real time beat meter on my iPad that we use a lot just to make sure tempos don't run away from us. I used to have a clip on stand and this little gizmo beats that one hands down and I'm pretty sure it's priced a little better than the old one. Fits nicely in my gear bag with all my wires.
One concern that I have always had about these types of stands is that they don't fit survivor cases. I had a survivor case for many years since the iPad would be sitting on my regular clip on stand / music holder. Can't count the number of times some drunk knocked into my stand and onto the floor the iPad would go. So I removed the iPad from it's survivor case and went back to a soft one I had. This works perfect and holds everything very secure.
Construction is always a concern. Being a musician in a bar environment and tearing down after each show takes its toll on anything and everything. This unit is high density plastic where it makes sense and has brass fittings where needed.
One of the really cool features is that it comes with two adjuster sets. One for larger tablets and another for phones.

Great for my unusual purpose

I got this holder to allow me to place my Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet on a leg of my camera tripod when I am controlling my camera with it. It does the job very nicely, with one exception: If I could have the ideal holder, it would allow a quick release of the tablet. This one does not, but in its favor, it does provide a very secure mounting and I am able to remove the tablet quite easily.
The tripod is carbon fiber and the diameter of the section to which I'm mounting the holder is 1.12", so I was afraid it may not have worked. No worries! The clamp is able to get around the leg with a little room to spare and it has a rubber screw tip and rubber on the clamp arm, so that it does not damage the carbon fiber. It provides enough grip to hold the tablet securely.
It comes with a second pair of "Y" arms to allow it to hold larger tablets, but even with my 10" tablet, I was able to use the standard ones.
This is a quality piece of equipment and it looks like it should stand up well. I'd give it 5 stars, but I reserve that for things that truly exceed my expectations. This was better than I thought it would be, so I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

this has been a wonderful product for the price

Originally purchased a while back. I wound up with a larger tablet recently, and inquired to the seller about purchasing only the longer arms to accommodate the larger tablet. The seller offered to simply sell me the complete newer model at a discount. I don't know for sure if I needed to disclose that, but I've seen others do it, so figured that I would as well.
So, this has been a wonderful product for the price. As with a lot of things that claim to be universal, there are some tradeoffs. It has multiple joints and moving parts that are meant to accommodate various screen sizes and angles. Overall, this holder seems to do that well. But more points of movement means that there are more potential points to wear out. I've noticed a little bit of loosening from my original one, but nothing so far that would make me not completely trust it. The actual frame seems well constructed.
It has attached securely to every mic stand that I have encountered, and I've never not been able to find a decent viewing angle.
I'm giving this product five stars, would highly recommend it for those of you looking for a versatile tablet holder, and would purchase again. That said, I'll give you my few critiques:
The actual arm ends (round parts) that contact the tablet could be a little bigger in order to accommodate thicker screens, or reasonably sized cases. The ones on there do flare out somewhat, but a little more flare wouldn't hurt.
The only other issue has been that the it would be nice if the frame was extended out about half an inch to an inch further away from the mic stand. There have been a couple of times when, for whatever reason, the mic stand couldn't be extended very far, so the tablet would actually be bumped up against the mic adjustment handle (the metal rod that you tighten when adjusting the boom angle). That said, I realize that a longer extension would also make it less stable. And, the device is versatile enough that it has never been a major issue, just a minor annoyance.
I'm just nitpicking at this point. Overall, it has been an awesome product at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend it to someone looking for a basic, but yet effective, universal tablet holder.

One More Helpful Tool for Performing Musicians

So far I've used it twice and it has been very sturdy. It is flexible and works well with my kindle. Just make sure your mic stand is sturdy enough to hold the weight of this device and your tablet without falling over.
This has helped improve performance for several reasons: 1. The lyrics are now within eyesight without being obtrusive for me the performer or for the audience. 2. My kindle is small enough that it isn't immediately recognized as a teleprompt cheat. 3. With my lyrics and chords on a full screen .pdf presentation I can focus on the performance instead of holding down paper lyrics, propping up a huge binder full of paper or plastic pages, or fighting the wind from turning pages for me.
A word of caution for performers, make sure your file is downloaded to your device before your performance. Don't rely on your service provider to have a signal or connection where you are performing. Use a black background with white text to avoid issues with brightness and sun glare. Make sure your battery is charged and run the tablet on an adapter during performance.

This tablet holder is perfect! Perfect design. Perfect function. Great price. Great value.
Once correctly tightened, it is impossible for your tablet to fall. Please fight your instinct to place the both of the "two-wheels adjustable clamps" on the seemingly obvious edges of the tablet (i.e., top & bottom or right & left sides of your tablet; both of those configurations are wrong). That is the fatal flaw of the other tablet holders.
The genius of this design is that you place both of the "two-wheels adjustable clamps" on opposing diagonal corners of your tablet. This makes it impossible for your expensive tablet to fall.
Photographers, you will love this. Screw this on to a microphone stand (such as Pyle-Pro PMKS5 Compact Base Black Microphone Stand or Neewer NW-106 Folding Type Adjustable 32.5-53 Inch / 83-135cm Microphone Tripod Floor Stand) with a standard 5/8" male thread and you are golden; no adapters are needed. I am sure musicians and other professionals will love the convenience of having your tablet on a stand.
