I don't care about steps i care about milage. For me steps are unimportant i walk everyday now trying to push how far i can go. I am 76 and i an above 2 miles going for 3 miles next. I had another pedometer but i didn't trust it used both and the old one said i walked 3 miles this one said 2.7 miles. I took my car and followed the same route car said 2.7 miles. This one is spot on i check every so often with my car just to make sure still spot on.
ACCURATE AND LOADED WITH GREAT INFORMATION

I received the Pedometer today. It took about 15 minutes to set it up, using the video instructions. I highly recommend everyone to do that! I immediately went for a short walk, only 19 minutes to test the item. It is excellent! I really appreciate the details of the information it gathers and displays. Without a doubt, this is a valuable and affordable product for what it is intended for. Thank you for the product. I expect to use it for many years, with satisfaction and appreciation.
Good For A Small Mileage Meter

I have a Garmin Etrex hiking GPS that is a great tool for doing what GPS's do. However it is kind of bulky to carry around when traveling and you have to replace the batteries every 30 hours. I almost bought a Fitbit but then I read you have to charge it every 3 days, a hassle if I'm traveling. This little guy, the Tri-Sport pedometer is great for walks in new places. Just clip it on and go. No, batts or charging.
The spec's say the battery will last one year. I calibrated it to the Etrex at dog walking speed. Of course Larger steps speed walking will be a longer distance, but I just add 10% and it's pretty close. All in all it's a handy little addition for logging my mileage. I keep a spreadsheet on that so for me it is a great little tool. I recommend it for anyone wanting a small portable mileage meter.

Comparable with 60-80 dollar units

This pedometer is comparable to the Omron pedometers but they now cost 60-80 dollars whereas this unit is $25. Steps are pretty accurate or close enough to any other brand of non-GPS construction. These types of pedometers are never going to be extremely accurate for distance since your steps are never the same length when using for daily counts. I like the 30 day memory, better than the Omron 7 day. I read a lot of reviews about this being hard to set up, but I had no problems. It was very similar to the Omron unit except for the 10 second limit on input of information. I watched the video several times and setting it up was easy. I didn't need to read the instructions. Write down your facts and have them handy when setting up and you should have no problems. Even if you make a mistake you can go back to beginning and hit set button to scroll to the point you want without having to input info again. I cant attest to longevity as I haven't had it that long. My Omron lasted over 10 years and they used to cost $25 or so.
Durable and accurate and no fuss

My husband's went through the washer and dryer not once but twice. (Doesn't speak well for us, does it?) Kept working! (Counter, not husband.) I wear mine relentlessly and I am not a careful person (see first sentence). Lasted years. I give it as gifts to people who express an interest in step counters and who are not highly technical. Biggest drawback is the very small size of the letters/numbers as one sets it up and the fiddly nature of changing battery. Also, set-up is not highly intuitive and you need to pay close attention the first few times. Apart from that, I think it's a really strong product, and I almost never write product reviews.
