I got the exact functionality I wanted

In its first week, the Satechi Bluetooth Media Button has worked exactly as I hoped it would. The pairing process with my Motorola MotoG4 android phone worked perfectly. My desire was to have a car-steering-wheel-mounted control for my Audible Audio Book app which gives access to the Volume, Pause and Rewind-30-second functions. Since the app re-maps the phones' fast-forward controls to do the 30-second jumps [that are also available on the button], I got the exact functionality I wanted. I can even see using the button while walking, so my phone doesn't have to leave my pocket or be opened (I have it in a leather flip case). The only "negative" issue, and it's quite minor, seems to be that the button needs a "wake up push" to re-establish connection after the phone moves back into Bluetooth range. If the battery lasts as long as advertised, "up to 2 years", I should be very happy with this purchase for a long time.

Sometimes the buttons get overly sensitive and trying to press the forward button will press the middle one or pressing the button once will result in a double pressing... however overall this is a great button and replaces one that I had previously that looked almost identical. The previous one stopped working with the ios8 or 9 update (I forget which) and this one does not have that same issue.

Love the ease of this little button. I keep it in my car to control music from my iPhone SE. My phone connects via an aux cord to my car stereo. I first taped the button to different spots in my car before I used the little sticky pad that they give you. There's only one and I wanted to be sure I liked the spot (as someone else recommended in another review. Thank you!). I know have it taped to my steering wheel and it's great! It seems to automatically turn on and off so I haven't had a problem with battery life.
Sometimes I have to hit the next button 4 or 5 times before it transmits to my phone. But other than that it works great. This could be because it turns off to save battery which is fine with me! I'm all for battery longevity.
Like others have mentioned on here - it would be a great improvement to have little raised dots on it so you could get an idea of which button you are pressing. But I have a visual of mine so I can see which button I'm pressing so that hasn't been a problem. It would be a nice bonus.

*UPDATE* It's been a long time I've been using this and it still works amazingly! the 2 year battery life was not very accurate i had to replace the battery in 1 year (that's still a looooong time) also i use it very very much! i used the double sided tape and it left some residue when i peeled it off and it's ugly but i bought another adhesive (ish) product from staples and it works like a charm (it's not double sided tape it's clear/transparent and is re-usable) :D if you like your steering wheel don't use it's own double sided tape or you'll have a lot of cleaning up to do :\ but it's the best $30 I've spent on my car and it truly is amazing :D

I was looking for some sort of media button where I could attach it to my steering wheel to control volume, play, pause, and to skip through tracks and I came across this little gem. Exactly what I was looking for and I didn't even know it existed. Works perfect on my 2006 Ford Ranger, and works perfectly fine with my iPhone 7 and iOS 10. It's great and convenient to use this as a steering wheel control, especially since my phone is already connected to my vehicle's Bluetooth. Great little media controller! Highly recommended!
