Of all the things I've ever purchased for my dogs, this dog bed "house" has been their favorite. It is my 9-10 pound papillon's favorite place to chill in the evenings, and sometimes my 8 pound Pom-Shih mix joins her inside, and they play-fight to kick the other out...which turns into a play fest. 2 years now, and it's still in great shape, even with them fighting over (literally over - as in "on top of"!) it. It's not hard, it's very soft, yet sturdy. You can easily smoosh it to fit somewhere or keep it free standing and it pops into shape. (I keep it on the couch propped up on a pillow where they can see the room from inside.)

I have two other dog bed "hut" like things that have not kept their shape and look like absolute crap after a couple months.

My puppy is a rescue and comes from a bad home and she likes to hide under things I believe it makes her feel safe and she loves this bed/house so much I would like re mention it is quite small I have a small breed and she fits in there quite well but if you have a dog over 10-15 pounds I would consider going with something bigger for sure

I'm a bit disappointed with this purchase. I bought this product from the same company a little over a year ago and it was well made and the bar along the top was securely fastened (while still easy enough to get out for washing). I purchased another one recently for a new dog (not that the last one wore out) and it's gone down in quality a LOT! The edges of the dog house flip up; the bar in the roof does not stay secure so constantly coming out and I worry my dogs will get hurt on it and it's just not as sturdy. Very disappointed that Best Pet Supplies chose to cheapen the product - and kept the price the same. My recommendation is to find something better made for your pets.
Dec2016 Update: the cushion inside is completely flat and bunches in corners. I contacted Best Pet Supplies to see if I could buy a replacement cushion (since the 16x16 size is very difficult to find another option). I was told they don't sell the cushions separately so I'd have to buy an entire new bed if I wanted a new cushion. I definitely recommend that you find another pet bed to purchase.

I love this dog bed/house! I was worried when I purchased it because half the reviews led me to believe it was big enough for my dog and the other half said it was too small for even toy breeds. My Jack Russell is 15-16 lbs. and fits very comfortably. I had to coax her in at first because she's not used to going through small openings. After I unzipped the roof, she was much more comfortable with exploring the dog house and now she goes in whenever she wants to snooze. I do have to put it away whenever my lab puppy is out and about because he thinks it's a chew toy.

After reading the reviews I thought this would be sooooo small even for my Daughters Morkie but it is awesome in everyway. The opening is larger than a carry on luggage carrier (perfect size to allow privacy a dog wants) and the material is soooo smooth and cool to the touch and it is light in weight and made very nicely with a zipper top. It does not tip over when he gets inside and it is the perfect place to relax in private. The cushion is unattached and stays in place and you can flip it over for a color change.Even the flooring is soft without the cushion. I cannot say enough about this product so yes I highly recommend this for your pet. I purchased two one for my 11 pound Shih-Poo and her dog (7 lbs) and both love them and have plenty of room inside.Could hold a slightly larger small dog as well. My Daughters Morkie is only a year old and as we were opening it from Santa he got so excited and jumped inside right a way before the roof was zipped but after a few NO NO he has learned to only use the door and not jump on the roof. They both love their new homes.and recommend you to buy one for your dog too.
