I've found that the warm/oriental scents have the longest staying power and work more efficiently than the more earthy scents. For example lavender or eucalyptus.
That being said though, this is an amazing product. It's the only thing I've found that completely eliminates any lingering smells of the smells of bacon, fish, eggs and even wet dog!
Also because it's meant to only flame for a short time, it doesn't generate a lot of carbon soot, so your ceilings won't get dirty.

Got these for Christmas for my wife along with the burner unit thingy. She loves them and they smell quite pleasant, although a little strong. When you set the main unit these go into off, be sure to leave the room for a while because the initial odor can be overpowering. But all in all a great value, especially since there is a variety of scents.

I love the smell of Mason Berger fragrances. My favorite is Ocean Breeze. Don't let it burn long because it evaporates fast. Light it for a few minutes then cover. The scent lingers.
