Far better than expected

Was a bit skeptical about this item as I read others complain that it did not till well or that any debris tended to break the plastic protection housing. Some have also indicated the tines bend easily. Having used full sized rotor tillers from Craftsman and Troy-Bilt in the past, I did have some experience in how not to attack the area I was tilling. I was quite shocked and pleased at how well it attacked the area! Having a 27cc trimmer head, this unit dug in like a full size machine and ground the soil wonderfully. This unit requires you work backwards in the area being tilled so the tines dig into the soil. This is opposite of the full size tillers. Trying to till forward with this unit will not attack the ground and the head will bounce around on the ground a lot, so don't do it! It pulled rocks to the surface so you need to be cautious in how fast and hard you apply the head to the work area. I tilled an area about 30x20 feet working in all directions with ease. Cleaning the unit was quite easy since the tines are held on by self locking Lynch pins. Simply pull the pins and slide the tines off to clean the shafts; takes less than 5 minutes.
Light use and maneuverable

I put about 3 hours of work in this attachment. Works as intended. This is not a tool to do a huge area but works great in a small garden that has been previously worked on. I wouldn't attempt to cut through six with it. I gave it 4 stars for the price.
but I received it in a dirty beat up box

I would have given it a 5, but I received it in a dirty beat up box, the unit was scratched up, and I had no time to return it because I needed to use it pronto to get my garden in. I am just glad the thing worked, and it does work good.
So far so good.

Works pretty good. It will depend on the engine power. I have 2, so i use the larger more powerful engine and it works good. The small one doesn't always have the power to turn the blades an it will jam. For very hard soil i wet it real well 24 hrs before and it is no longer a problem.
Good for a home gardener.

I knew this wouldn't be a regular tiller; I had high expectations, and they weren't exactly met. Since some people want to deport all the immigrants, I realized that if I want fresh produce in the future, I may have to start growing it myself. My yard is heavy clay, and so tilling it in general is going to be difficult, even with one of the big ones.

To build my garden, I used landscaping paper to sunlight deprive the grass for two weeks. After that, I mowed it on my mower's lowest setting. my first pass with the tiller (shown in images) was not the greatest, and root matter was still prevalent. I rotated a quarter turn and did a second pass. Then I took a break; I was very tired, and I had to get my weight belt to continue. I spread a bag of peat moss (3 cubic feet) and made two more passes, rotating a quarter after each, to make sure I got it from each direction.

Basically, I made up for the lack of muscle in the tool by using my own muscle. I am a 32 year old man with thick clay soil, and it wore me out. Judge me as you will I just want to provide a basis for comparison. If you don't have the muscle, and your yard is rough, this may not be the tool for you.

Dollar for dollar, it was a good investment for me. I found that giving it an angle before putting it in the soil also helped.
