Don't Buy. Filberts are rancid and have a moldy smell to some of them. Some of them are fine.

I enjoy eating filberts and almonds. This package of hazelnuts was rancid as some of them were good and others were rancid and tasted horrible. So, I checked to see if the product made in the USA and it was. Other reviewers said the same thing about these nuts. I would not buy them if I were you. They are spoiled for the most part, and I can't distinguish between good and rancid nuts. So, it has been laid aside on the counter and I am wondering what to do with them? I have a lot of wild birds where I live and feed them in the winter, but I wouldn't give it to them, for it would make them ill. I have never in my lifetime ever had nuts that were spoiled or old or moldy stench. I am disappointed I spent so much money for them.

I ordered these in April, 2017, to use during the holidays. I've kept them in a cool, dark space since receiving them. The expiry date on the package is May, 2018. When I went to roast them for gifts this season, they were all moldy. Upon writing to the company to ask for a replacement, they said their return-by time is 30 days. Unacceptable.

Certainly not the best hazelnuts I've tasted, or rather not the freshest ones, but I didn't have troubles with rancid ones either as stated in other reviews. Overall, the price/quality ratio was OK. Would buy again.
Too many bad nuts to just eat freely.

After buying these a couple of times I will buy no more. I will pay more for a higher quality product next time. All in all there were just too many sour nuts. The american grown nuts I tried previously did not have this issue.
