This is the best spar varnish I have ever used.

I have a beautiful wooden front door. It gets punished by the Louisiana sun, rain and weather. I have to refinished every couple of years. Big job! After I stained it, I applied a few coats of Totalboat wood sealer (followed instructions). Then applied Totalboat Gleam Spar and it was very easily applied and it has a finch, honey like hue to it. Looks great and water beads up. I plan to wax twice a year to extend it. Very happy with this product.
Decent but if using over puff paint beware of yellowing

So far I am pleased with this product, but I did put it over puff paint to hopefully helpy project last through the years. I realize reapplying in a couple of years will be necessary too. Anyway, the puff paint is white but after applying the Marine Spar Varnish (satin) over it the white turned yellow. Still it looks nice and will be fine.
Thin coats get the best finish

Product covers well, recoating can be done several times in a day. Recommend a light sanding with 320 grit before final coat
Bent can

Pint size can arrived with a significant dent near top. Around the top was a heavy duty hard white silicone type sealing ring ( I've never seen this before in my 76 yrs). It took 2 men to saw this hard, thick ring off. It appeared the contents were o.k. even with this large dent.
This product needs good ventilation as the odor is very strong. I applied several coats in 2 days to an outside 30 yr. Old wood door that was sanded and stained. So far it appears to be a good product.
