Second one purchased for another granddaughter. Caution, the 1st granddaughter said she washed off makeup she got on the eyes, and the eyes are not as permanent as she thought. She removed some of the eye color, but still loves to fix the hair.

I bought this for my daughter who fancies herself (and does rather well) as a make up artist. It was a gift for her 11th birthday. I purchased this because the price was right and it was the only mannequin that had both hair AND a blank face for applying make up. That being said the name of this item is misleading. It has "HIGH HEAT" right in the title - which made me think that the hair could handle high heat - important when one wants to use a curling iron or straightener. I also purchased several sets of false eyelashes for my daughter to apply to the mannequin as well as a special mannequin head clamp so that it would stay upright while she styled the hair and make up. My daughter seems to like this very much - but is creeped out by what she calls "dead eyes". The head seems to be made of a very durable vinyl. The hair is very thin - but also very long.
