I bought this item for my daughter who is currently night training, in case she had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. It was well worth the $13 and more. She loves it so much! She loves to fall asleep with it on. I love that it automatically turns off after 20 minutes (i was worried that she would just leave it on all night). It's bright but not terribly bright. Great product!

So far I have a 33% success rate with this nightlight. It's so disappointing because when this product does work, it's perfect!

To date I have ordered three of these. Two owls and one butterfly. The butterfly, my three year old's nightlight, works wonderfully. It's held up to rough play and nightly use for over two years with no problems. It also doesn't run through batteries like her previous night light did. It's just bright enough to comfort and make it possible for her or I to see around her room, but dim enough that it's not disrupting her ability to fall asleep. And with a child who has childhood insomnia, that's a huge plus!

Unfortunately both owls I have ordered were duds. The first cracked when I was tightening the battery hatch back on and I was definitely not being rough with the screwdriver! We continued to use it for a little while because the light was okay but after only a week the crack extended so that the battery hatch wouldn't stay on, rendering the whole thing unusable. (Yes, we tried taping it but it wasn't holding the batteries in well enough).

The second owl, after a week of regular use, decided that it would only light up every third or fourth time we pressed the button and even then it was super dim. Considering I use it in the middle of the night for my second daughter's nighttime feeding, that quickly grew irritating. I tried new batteries a couple times and that did nothing to solve the problem. So now I have one out of three working night lights.

I'd love to have a working version of this night light because our butterfly works so well! But I won't be purchasing another to see if I get lucky. I don't like my odds!

This thing has taken a beating. My kids fight over it, and it has been thrown against the wall, dropped countless times. Keeps working. Other nice things include, unlike a traditional nightlight, if your child unplugs it, then what? Now you have an outlet they can try to stick their little finger in. Also it's good for travel because they have it with them, versus a traditional nightlight, where it would be in a different spot than they are used to. Big fan.

i bought the monkey light for my son and i love it. it puts off a very soft yellowish light that helps give my 4 year old son enough light so he isnt scared and can see what hes doing, without keeping him awake with too much light. Im not sure its quite enough to read by, but it could be if it was brought closer to the book. very very cute light, and i love how it goes off by itself after a while. highly recommend!

YAY we love our owl light. My autistic toddler has trouble sleeping by himself as well as falling asleep so we thought to get him a nightlight. After reading horrible reviews of literally 50 other products I found this gem! It doesn't play music, the light is calming without being too bright to light up the whole room, the power button is easy to press and to find in the dark, and after 30 minutes it turns itself off. It's so sweet and my son loves it!
