I really thought I'd found a good chalk box . Today I dropped this chalk line and the knob on the roll up handle broke off !! Why is it so hard for companies to make a quality product ? This was the second day of using this box , by the way. Very disappointed to say the least. Now I have yet another junk chalk line ! What a pain !! How bout do me a favor and ship me another ? Before it broke, I'd give it a 4 star because it seems good except for the handle . Take care of a customer and I'll give it a 4 star.

Owned one for 4 years working in vertical concrete, building high rise buildings. They last!! So I bought a new one once this one started feeling like the gears were worn out after 4 years of heavy use. Gonna keep the old one for a backup in the gang box in case someone loses one.

Over about 60 years this is the best chalk box I have owned. Period!
Note - do not wash anything with the red dye on it with any other items. Otherwise everything in the washer will come out pink. (My wife made me add that.)
