Cooled well until the mount broke
James R. Nutt✓ Verified PurchaseFebruary 2, 2018
Revised after a post mortem of the failure. As it turns out, the lower mounts can loose and the fan swung back on a hill and contacted the water pump pulley. This caused the pulley to wear through the insulation on the feed wire and short it out, causing the fan to fail. So, the failure wasn't the fault of the fan, it was the fault of the installer (me). Up until it failed, it was doing a pretty good job, I don't think it was quite adequate for the my engine (I think it really needed a 17" fan), but would have been fine if the mount hadn't broken.

Well, it started out well enough, cooled the engine, mostly, and gave me hope that my overheating days were behind me. Then I took it for an extended drive (about 2 hours) and the motor burnt out. Blew a 30 amp fuse in the process and let all the magic smoke out of the fan motor. Sorry, but the motor for a cooling fan needs to be able to handle high heat and continuous duty. This one did neither.

Mounted in a '97 Wrangler with 4.0L engine.
Electric fan for the 48 pick-up
Ruth L. Ward✓ Verified PurchaseDecember 31, 2017
This was purchase for a 1948 flat bed pick-up. My husband had someone build him the metal box fan is attached to the pack of the radiator. 1948 F-2 pick-ups were notorious for over heating, because there was no fan shroud. We hope this will solve that problem.
Note - there is no pigtail wire for this fan. You will have to make/buy your own.

It did not come with the connector. Other than that, it works fine. I can't really say anything bad about it not coming with the connector as it's not in the pictures so I guess it doesn't come with one.
I this ordered this to see if it might do the job even though it would be installed as a pusher rather than more efficient puller like the original
Michael I.✓ Verified PurchaseJune 22, 2017
Recently the primary cooling fan died in my Buick Terraza (aka The Grey Lemon). While a replacement assembly is not that expensive, the labor to remove and replace is a pain in the fan. I this ordered this to see if it might do the job even though it would be installed as a pusher rather than more efficient puller like the original.

I am pleased to report that install was easy and it is keeping temps well within normal range even in traffic where ambient temperature is in the high 90s. It is actually sitting against the AC condenser so air must be pushed through there first and then the radiator. No matter, it is doing the job well and us very quiet. I wired it to the lines that went to the primary, just reversed the polarity and flipped the fan blades.

Too soon to say how long it will last but all good for now.
Great fan, used it for a custom air purifier ...

Great fan, used it for a custom air purifier for indoors . Gets loud on full tilt but can quiet if adjusted and puts out lots of air. Started chirping after 6-8 months of everyday 24/7 use but still works. 20v power supply might be the reason for that. Would buy another.
