Little flimsy case
Kurt✓ Verified PurchaseJuly 24, 2023
Outer metal case is a little flimsy and will probably get bent before I get around to installing it. After installation it shouldn't need a strong case. Lighter weight than I expected. Can't tell much more till it's installed.
Great but not a direct replacement

The furnace works very well and is very quiet but it wasn't a direct replacement for the one from my 1992 Bounder. The gas inlet placement is different and required some repiping of the propane inlet. Also the cold air inlet pipe was too long and had to be cut down to size. All in all a very good furnace.
Plug and play

The good news was that the unit arrived a day early the bad news is the case around the blower/electrical section was bent ant miss shaped from a drop or something the funny thing is that the box was not crushed any where so the damage had to have happened before boxing it at the factory, I have a background in HVAC/R service and currently work for one of the largest online HVAC retailers, so I was able to inspect the unit and bend the case back into as close to its original shape as I could get it. The unit was a bit cantankerous as far as getting it set squarely on the ductwork and getting the combustion/exhaust plumbing lined up with the existing holes, but after a good talking to😠it finally cooperated. The removal of the old unit and instal of the new one was easy as pie p, if you even a moderate amount of mechanical knowledge you can have everything done in no more than 2 hours depending on your beer intake. It took me about 30-45 minutes to remove the custom cabinet/box I built to conceal my furnace and 10 minutes to actually swap the two units out. Take your time and take pictures of your wiring and you'll be able to do the swap out just fine.
Overall I'm pleased with my purchase it just sucks that I could have bought a 40,000 BTU standard furnace for residential use for about half the cost, but you gotta have heat right.
Good Furnace, but Dented
DPuckett✓ Verified PurchaseJune 10, 2023
This furnace was the correct unit for our RV. It was easy to install and worked great. Issue with this unit is that it arrived in pristine packaging yet the entire backside was dented making it necessary for us to use the backside from the previous furnace. This isn't a cheap item and should not have arrived in the condition it did.
Q stands for "So much quieter" !!!!

This furnace replaced the OEM 30k BTU unit in my 2011 Cougar 318-SAB coach. The OEM units blower whined a TON, noisy operation. This new SF-35F"Q" unit is a lot quieter, I mean 4 times quieter. It makes a rushing air sound but no whining fan noise at all. It's so much quieter I'd replace the unit just for the noise reduction alone. The blower re-design is well worth the money. No more turning up the TV every-time the heater comes on. Replacement was pretty easy and my first. I figured I'd write up this procedure of what I had to do, I had no idea how to remove and replace a furnace in a coach, so I hope that this helps someone thinking of DIY. It'll save you a grand over the camper shop. Close valves on gas bottles, bleed off the remaining line pressure (light a burner on the stove till it goes out and don't forget to close the gas value on the stove after you are done) and disconnect the battery and shore power before starting. Disconnect the gas line from the heater, remove the heaters front cover (2 screws) and then the 2 mounting screws at the bottom/front behind the cover and wiggle the unit off the chimney in the back (its just pressed onto the steal pipe leading from outside, the hot exhaust only - plastic intake pipe just butts up). You do not have to replace the chimney pipes but they provide them if you do need them for your installation. Hardest part was dealing with the short wiring harness in the coach (they're so dang cheap with their wire when they build these coaches). I extended the harness about a foot and added a plug for future removal should it be necessary. Took about an hour to replace, 30 minutes of that was extending the dang wiring harness, thanks Keystone, 12 more inches of wire would cut R&R time in half. It's gonna stink when you fire it up for the first time till the paint on the heat ex-changer burns in. It'll set off your smoke detectors. Open all the windows and turn on all the vent fans. Allow yourself time to burn-in the ex-changer before you need to close up the coach for heating. It took a good dozen heating cycles to get rid of the hot paint smell. I left the front cover off for the burn-in process so it didn't push that stink thru all the heating ducts. Happy camping from a happy, warm and quiet camper.
