Good price, but some shoddy workmanship

I am really happy with how the bed looks. The quality is actually pretty good. We priced this bed in 2 different furniture stores and we definitely saved a couple hundred bucks! My issue is a couple of things: The instructions were not clear. Please develop some better instructions! You kinda had to figure it out. My husband is handy, he got it done no problem. The trundle assembly was the last step and it was simple to assemble. However, when we went to push the trundle in, it would go all the way back on one side. I had to climb under the bed to see what was stopping it on the one side. It appeared that the wooden stopper was not even with the one across from it. So, my husband had to unscrew it, measure and reposition it. It was a slight inconvenience, but still an inconvenience. It ended up taking over 2 hours to assemble.
Beautiful but very soft wood and finish. Trundle is near impossible to slide in or out

Instructions were all pictures, but simple step by step format. You will need a second person to get the frame together. I used my 9 year old daughter as my second person and it ended with me sweating and swearing. Especially considering that the wood is extremely soft so every little bump during assembly made little dents in the wood and scratches on the finish. Good luck getting the drawer in there, btw. I found that loosening the screws for the bed rails on the front gave the drawer enough room to slide in and I tightened them back up after getting the dang thing in there. Also, the trundle is EXTREMELY difficult to pull out. I thought it would be on a gliding bar or something, but it's just 4 tiny wheels that don't move well over carpet at all. I'm planning to put an office style plastic mat under the trundle to help it roll easier. All that said, it really is a lovely bed and my kids love it. One last note: the doors on the ends are functional and allow you to access underneath the bed frame. My 3 year old decided to hide in there and I nearly called the cops because I thought he had been kidnapped or ran away. He was hiding under the bed and thought it was hilarious. Just a heads up for parents with mischievous toddlers.
Okay but could be better

The bed shipped out and arrived 11 days after ordering it.
It was shipped freight. IT was packed on on pallet all standing up.
IT was wrapped and straps on it.
The delivery driver had a hard time trying to move it off his truck to our house.
It was top heavy and kept trying to fall over.
There was a huge gash in the end panel that is very noticeable.
I ordered a wood scratch repair kit to try and dress up the gash.
The drawer tracks are attached with staples. Yes, staples.
I had to get little wood screws to attach the slide tracks to the drawers
because they were barely hanging on by the staples.
Other than all of that, it's easy to assemble.
Bed looks good other than the huge gash.
Amazing!

We are so happy with this purchase! I did a lot of research before selecting this particular bed and chose it after reading negative reviews for a similar bed from a furniture store. My main concern was our ability to actually build this large bed with very little skills. The bed came in four large separate boxes, and to our relief almost completely assembled when we opened them. Two of us just followed the simple directions and were done completely in less than two hours including opening up the boxes. The quality of the wood gives me the piece of mind that my son can continue to use it while he grows up.
LOVE it. Very nice kid's bed

very well made wood bed (not composite). Was relatively simple to put together (partially done in box), but I wish I'd just gone with 6 drawers, instead of the trundle. The Trundle is a TWIN, not a full bed, which was disappointing. The bed is VERY high, wish there was a set of stair drawers that could be purchased with it, as well..Also it's very hard to pull out the trundle on carpet (it sinks & is very difficult to pull out), but otherwise I think the bed will be good for us.
