This is a nice pepper grinder. It looks well made. Very attractive and grinds well. The negative is that it is small. Way smaller than you would think it is. I'm not saying don't get it, I think it is nice. I'm just saying it is small. I have attached a picture of it in my wife's hand. She is an average sized lady so it will give you an idea of the size

The grinder came sooner than expected, was packed and wrapped well. Good sturdy quality. Grinds really fine, even the large chunks of big pink Himalayan salt. It made quick work of it! Beautiful engraved design. Gorgeous and works like a charm! I'm very happy! (Hard to see in the picture but it is 4 1/4 inches tall.)

Overall, a nice grinder, close to what I expected. Very solid, heavy, nice looking. We use it for (Tibetan) coarse salt; it should also work well for pepper and probably many other spices.
The top cylindrical part is the grinder. You pour in the stuff to be ground through a rather small slit opening at the top (which is opened and closed using a tiny handle that can sometimes get in the way when you are grinding, but not a big issue).
The bottom, more spherical part is a detachable collector of the grounded material. So you can do all the grinding ahead of time and just use the bottom part as the dispenser, or grind from the top part directly onto the food.
The grinder is fairly small - though plenty sufficient for home use (using dispenser can be harder for fatter fingers).
A few comments about what could be improved:
1. The opening to pour the stuff in is rather small, so it is a minor pain in the neck to fill up the grinder.
2. The coarseness of the grinding can be adjusted, but for this you have to practically take the grinder apart (unless I am missing something and doing it the hard way, and it is hard to say just how much you have adjusted it. Definitely not feasible to adjust in "real time": if during the dinner you like it coarse, but another person at the table likes it fine.
3. This style of a grinder - with the handle - may be difficult to use for some -- all the pressure is applied on a relatively small area of the tiny handle, so it can be unpleasant for the more gentle hands (it is used exclusively by my husband:), and can require a bit greater strength. More common grinders (where you just turn the big round smooth top) are generally easier to use. But this is what comes with this style.

So, bottom line: a nice decorative but functional grinder with some limitations, mostly those that come with the style.

Well made grinder! Check out a review by "Marc" on February 1, 2015. He described this perfectly. The chamber for the salt, pepper, etc. is small but so is the size of the grinder. It only holds about 1 1/2 to 2 Tablespoons of unground peppercorns and my peppercorns are on the small side. But it works beautifully, is solidly made and fits nicely in my hand. Like "Marc" said ... Remember, this comes from Turkey and takes awhile (mine took 4 weeks) to receive, but is well worth it.

It took some time to arrive but it has a very authentic feel to it! It is the perfect size. I am happy with my purchase.
