Powerful, tough little pump. Good value!

This is a powerful little pump for the money. I used to get Little Giant pumps, but this one from Tetra works just fine.
It's easy enough to clean, too.
If you are running your tubing horizontally, you should be able to get plenty of pump power until you get clogged up. If you have a tall fountain, you will get a weaker flow as your height increases. At 4.3 feet high, you will experience "zero flow".
Length of the power cord is 74" once you get all the bends out. The cord does have a very tenacious memory, which is a pain.
Suction cups work fairly well if the bottom of your reservoir is not porous.

Going to use it to rebuild an old outdoor fountain, so far working well indoors, not much noise

It's still winter here in Connecticut (snowing right now!) so I can't test this in its eventual permanent home yet, but it's going to go into a small Greenman fountain that sits next to my screened porch and is primarily for birds to drink from (and the cats to watch the birds, more importantly). My old generic pump in that died and I was using a small solar fountain just to keep the water moving but this pump will, hopefully, bring the fountain back to it's real operational status. In other words, move the water through the face, etc. In the meantime I tested it on a small fountain indoors just to be sure it works and it seems to work pretty well. I had a collection of hose clamps and tubes and things here so I tend to jury-rig things together, but this came with everything I needed so it was a pretty easy set up. I'm not really clear on just how waterproof these things are so I'll probably build a housing for it. Pumping 160 gph is a pretty good flow rate.
Good little pump

Yet again Tetra nails it for aquatic supplies. This is smaller than I had expected, however provides performance of a larger pump. I'm using this for a small water feature that looks better (IMO) with a faster flow that what originally came with it. This pump at a 2' height puts out roughly 134 GPH from the label - I have no actual way to measure this - but it absolutely outperforms the 100 GPH pump I originally had. I have not noticed any noise or hum from it. I also tested the "auto low water shutoff" by letting the reservoir run dry and this did as stated. An excellent option for those who can get busy, or if you're away from home and unable to check water levels. Included is 3 fittings that do measure as stated: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 (ID in inches)
This pump is rated "submersible only" and has a 6 ft power cord. Power draw is 120V / 60 Hz 0.25 A
The specs state the following outputs:

Works Well, Price is Reasonable

I ordered this for our beach house, which has a small outdoor pond. Like most pumps it allows you to adjust the flow of the water according to your preferences. There are no special features with this pump - it's pretty standard. The price, however, is quite reasonable and it comes with a one-year warranty. Time will tell how well it will last in the long run, but for now it seems to be working fine. No problems.
Works Great For My Small Outdoor Water Feature / Fish Pond

The Tetra Pond Statuary Pump 160 works great for an outdoor feature like my little fish pond I have in my backyard garden. I only submerged this unit one foot deep. That way it has more fountain and less bubbles. You can submerge this pump about 3 feet if you need to but anything deeper and you won't get much movement.
I've had water features for 20 years and love them. However, they aren't without maintenance, especially if you have fish. Debris has to be cleaned out almost as often as having an aquarium inside the home. Having a pump to circulate the water helps but it can also become clogged with debris. Routine maintenance is key to keeping your outside decorative pond/water feature looking good and lasting for years.
This pump has a one year limited warranty. To be honest, that's about how long I expect this pump to last. They just don't last very long.
This pump has adjustable flow settings. Make sure you adjust your flow every week or so, to make sure its still working properly. I only run my pump when I'm around the water feature. I don't just have it going it 24 hours a day.
So far so good - I recommend this pump!
