Works great and last through a few stains before needing retreated. Applied easily with a standard garden sprayer. Recommend to spray outside as there is a strong Oder at first which does dissipate after a few days or so. Retreating with a spray bottle and rag does not seem to leave as much smell and can be done quickly. I work for a hotel so we treat a lot of chairs.
I expected it to be more like scotch guard or other competitors

I expected it to be more like scotch guard or other competitors. I bought a galllon that I wont even waste my time with. Amazon will not refund the product because of it being shipped back and is flammable. I bought spray bottle and filled it once with the gallon only to find it doesn't help with white carpet and now I am out nearly $ 120 between the two. I will be ordering the DuPont advanced Teflon instead.

I have both used and sold Vectra'ed since 1984. Without a doubt it is the best product I have ever tried. Being in the high end upholstery and design business using terrifically expensive fabrics I have been super careful to test each fabric (only hand painted or ethnic fabrics have ever been a problem with "bleeding") even silk. I have never had a problem with Vectra. Professional application is best but it can be applied by anyone who takes their time and coats it evenly.

Vectra is considered the gold standard, but I'm going to try another kind. I've bought this size & the spray bottle of Vectra. . I needed a lot. I used it to cover outdoor covered patio cushions, & poolside seating cushions. Whether it was the sun, weather whatever...I can't say it repeld stains, etc...but, I think to do this right, maybe you have to do it once a year. I was told it was the best, but, I'd look around first.
