I purchased this duffle bag for a two-nignt trip so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Frankly, I didn't care about the quallity at the time since I probably would never need to used it again. I was surprised though. It was much better quality than a previous duffle bag I purchased for about the same price. My only complaint was the flimsy plastic insert. They could have saved a few pennies by not using it and no one would have missed it. I made one out of a stiff piece of cardboard and it gave the bottem of the bag some structure.

I love all of the pockets. It has two small pockets that fit small things you want to be able to find in a pinch such as keys and phone and two big side pockets that I can fit my soap and other bathing needs to use after the gym. The big pocket is perfect, and I love the hard liner at the bottom that helps the whole bag keep its shape.

There are only two small things that if different would have improved this bag.
Very small in my opinion, but the side pockets for water bottles are not too functional for holding your reusable water bottles because they are too small. I think it is mean to hold the small disposable plastic water bottles.

Secondly, the strap is just OK. It doesn't suck, but I have been toying with the idea of getting a more comfortable and thicker strap to use with this bag. It honestly is probably my own fault because I load this bag up at times with my gym equipment (wrist wraps, bands, metal water bottle, protein shaker, change of clothes, bar clamps, bathing needs and change of clothes) and it digs into my shoulder.

All in all, its a great bag for the price and I use the heck out of this bag every day.

I loved this bag. I used it to carry various things to work, nothing heavy or oversized. I loved the color, the price was right, and the size of it was perfect. But after only 2 and a half months the loop that secures the strap ripped out. Very disappointed that it didn't hold up longer. Somehow feel like if it had been used as a "gym bag" then it would've ripped out sooner as it would most likely be holding more than what I used it for. I suppose if you were looking for a bag that you were only going to use for a trip then it would be great. But apparently not a long term bag. I realize it was on the cheaper side, but I still had expected to get at least a year out of it.

I've had this bag for about 2 weeks so far and used it a couple times to transport some supplies/instruments and scrubs for surgery.

Pros:
I really like the thought process behind the design of this bag. You have a large main compartment that easily fits a pair of scrubs and an instrument tray. The front zipper pocket is wide enough to fit a variety of flat items (surgical glove packets, surgical masks, pad of paper, etc.). The two large, zipper compartments on the sides are large enough to fit a pair of shoes a piece...if your feet aren't too big...or things like boxes of suture, diagnostic "pocket" books, extra huck towels, etc. Like most bags in it's class, there are two mesh pouches on the front for small water bottles, sunglasses, large cell phones, etc. And, as a nice bonus not seen on many duffel bags, you have a small, zippered pocket between the main compartment and each of the side compartments! These two zipper pouches are great for personal items (keys, cell phone) and small surgery items like surgery caps, packages of blades, individual suture foils, etc. You have two options to carry the bag--a shoulder strap or two handles that velcro together. Beyond the design, I like the variety of colors this bag comes in. Whatever your favorite color or hospital theme, you will find it! The price is also very economical, and the bag comes in a 17" & 19" version in this design.

Cons:
Even though the main compartment is a good size, it's just a smidgen small for carrying everything I will eventually need for surgery. Unfortunately, since I really like the design, I'll probably have to upgrade to a slightly bigger bag. I'm also concerned about the construction of the bag. The stitching isn't well placed or very strong. I've already noticed a few places starting to pull apart and one spot that doesn't look like it was ever securely stitched. I'm not sure yet whether I might keep it and just reinforce key points or if I'll have to return it due to the poor construction. I definitely hope that the company decides to improve the stitching on this bag and offer a 21" version in this design.

This is definitely a light-duty gym bag. Don't expect this to be a bug-out bag or overnight bag, nor should you expect it to carry much weight. The mesh pockets might be big enough for your gym combination lock but come across as cosmetic and rather useless. Don't expect to put a normal-sized bicyclists reusable water bottle, phone or even a wallet in the mesh pockets. However, there are plenty of other useful pockets to organize stuff into. There are four grommeted feet on the bottom of the bag that are more for style than function because the bottom of the bag sags onto the floor making the grommets fairly useless. There is a soft plastic removable board on the bottom of the center compartment that covers the grommets and may provide some token support to lay your clothes on.

The canvas from which the bag was made has a plastic coating on the side that faces the bag interior, ostensibly to resist dampness from wet gym towels or swim trunks. Don't rely on this coating to keep the bag from leaking if you perch this duffel with wet clothes onto your priceless hand-waxed antique cherry-wood coffee table. Put your wet clothes in plastic bags first. Don't put this bag in the washing machine because the plastic coating will deteriorate and leave little bits of debris flaking all over the inside of your bag.

The bag is quite obviously quickly fabricated. (See the photo depicting challenges with the handle reinforcement squares.) However, the zippers all seem to work and the pockets are reasonably organized. For the value (about $13) this will be good enough to bring my flip-flops, a comb, plastic bags for wet swim trunks, a change of clothes and a towel to the gym. With care, this bag could last for a while. If you're a gym rat, expect to buy another bag in six months or less.

I like the overall look of the bag. Mesh pockets aren't really big enough for a standard reusable water bottle as suggested by the title of this product on Amazon. I would like to have seen more quality and craftsmanship in its construction and design. Hence, four stars.
