An amazing product from top to bottom:

First, at my age I can say I have struggled with Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (Basically under the skin hair growth post shaving, irritation, etc.) I have seen a few doctors about it and basically the condition is common and even more common in some nationalities/cultures than others. I am of a European decent (Italian) and was told this is not uncommon given my culture.

As such I have tried years to find different techniques of shaving, different Preshaves, post shaves, razors, etc... 25 years later I had found the right combination and for 5 years now have had almost NO problems.

All of a sudden the manufacture canceled the product I was using and I was back to square one. After extensive research, and learning some aftershaves topped over $50.00 I was amazed and came across several positive recommendations on this aftershave and for the cost it was amazingly priced given the market products it was compared too.

Anyway, as for the product itself so far I have used it half a dozen times and so far NO irritations, that's been the greatest thing I am pleased to say. Also, a little goes a long way, the dispenser pump is great, keeps me from going overboard when applying it and the smell doesn't disappear, it stays around for a bit, which is nice.

All around VERY impressive and the cost makes it very well worth it. Don't be fooled, its a small bottle but the amount needed is very small and this bottle can go a long way.

Overall hands down it's a great product and something I will buy again.

On a side Note - I may have failed to mention, the customer service for this company is like no other company I have seen in the last 20 years!

I have purchased products 10, 100, and 500 times this price and never received the level of service I have from this company. Listen up, if you are running a business, call Lather & Wood Shaving Co and hire them to help your customer service department, they are amazing!

I normally dont write reviews but this product is special. I was using Dove hydrate plus after shave for years but that got out of production for some reason so I kind of ran " battle of best after shave contest" and this one easily won it. It calms down the skin irritation within seconds better than any other after shave. It really is light years ahead of others as the description says. I will be trying more of their products. Here are other products i compared to with my comments added.

Love the product. Was expecting a little more scent, and for this reason I am giving a 4-star rating. But I recommend it.

STOP using alcohol based aftershave, and START using Lather & Wood After-Shave Balm, I promise you will never go back.

I always used to think the burn of an alcohol based aftershave was a necessary part of shaving, and if you didn't have the burn you were going to get razor burn and razor bumps. Boy, was I wrong. I was hesitant to make this purchase, as I have sensitive skin that blemishes easily, and I've always been insecure about acne and razor burn/bumps after shaving, so I avoided anything creamy or that didn't have alcohol - thinking that was the best choice for me. This after-shave balm completely changed my perspective. The after-shave balm goes on light and non-greasy, has an amazing feel to it, makes my skin feel soft and protected, provides a deep moisturizing feel, does not cause acne, and best of all smells INCREDIBLE. My skin has never felt better after shaving. I would highly recommend pairing with the Lather & Wood Sandalwood shaving soap.

After I decided to pull the trigger on investing in a wet shaving setup, I was looking for a a nice soap and aftershave to pair with it. After some searching, I landed on Lather & Wood products, and decided to give it a try. I initially purchased the Bay Rum scent along with Sandalwood. While Lather & Wood's Bay Rum scent is, in and of itself, fantastic for those who like it, it wasn't for me. This Sandalwood scent on the other hand is so unique, refreshing, and amazing, with strong but not overpowering woodsy, earthy, smoky, and mature notes, like walking through a fresh sandalwood grove on a crisp fall afternoon, it is unlike any other Sandalwood scent I've ever smelled on the market. Most shaving soaps or aftershaves I've smelled that claim to be sandwalwood have an old chemical perfumey smell to them that gives me a headache. This after-shave balm is the complete opposite, and I promise you will feel so refreshed and confident as you get whifts of this amazing scent throughout the day.

Do yourself a favor and give this after-shave balm a chance, and you will not be disappointed. I swear by this company and this product.
