I had to return these because it turns out they just wouldn't fit my double-window. Too bad! They are a great idea!
But I had to open the box and try it, to know it wouldn't work. After reading reviews, I was very, very, very careful with the locking assembly - I surely didn't want to break it! And I didn't. I think that, following the instructions, they should be fine. I did get to try it enough to think I know that. Great concept.

I live in an apartment where I can't screw anything into the walls, so this was one of the few options for I had. This rod is so poorly designed, making it impossible to install on your own. Only the right side screws in leaving the left side to either pop off, or continuously flip when your trying to adjust the right side. Eventually I had to give up until I could get another person to come over and hold the left side in place while I locked and tightened the right side. It does the job once installed, but in no way was it easy or convenient to install with just one person. Since one end kept popping off, flipping, and sliding down the wall, it was pretty scratched up by the time it was properly setup. I would've paid a bit more for a better design and better quality. It's more of a plastic material then hard metal so it easily got scratched up and in my mind not worth the cost. If you could find another option I'd avoid purchasing this product.

I did not use the product so I don't know if I can give a fair review. The brackets stick out too far to be able to use them with our window casing so they are being returned. Make sure when ordering that you measure the depth of your window frame and review the bracket description for the product.

Tension mounted curtain rods are a great option when you don't want to permanently screw or afffix the rod to the wall. This one came with a wall mount to use mid- bar - but it requires permanent mounting (screw or nail) An alternate solution would be to see if you can find a 3M wall product that would work with this fixture piece, for easy removal. If you opted against using this additional piece on a larger window you may have to use light weight window coverings due to the lack of stability across the larger space !

I've already returned one of these because the end piece kept spinning around and wouldn't tighten and now the original one I bought that was okay recently just gave out. When I tried to put it back up it looks like the end piece is doing the same thing - spinning around and not tightening to hold in place inside window. I'm very disappointed. I bought these because I live in an apartment and didn't want to damage the walls by putting up window treatments but now I have to affix it to the wall.
