I've just started using this support and have been pleased. I've got some experience wearing ankle stabilizers so my comments may be helpful. The fabric is fairly substantial and is sewn well. The laces are long enough to accommodate varying foot widths. It's important to put on a sock before adding the stabilizer to protect skin. This is stated in the instructions. It's also important to read the instructions before putting it on to get maximum benefit. I had to use a magnifier to read the small print. I wear lace-up shoes and have no trouble putting them on over the stabilizer. It's comfortable enough to sleep in. It's hard to say how long it might last, and that depends on how much a person is on their feet.

Ordered these for my son,
He keeps twisting his ankles during sports.
He said they were comfortable and helped.
One of them did start scraping up the bottom of his foot so he had to take it off.

Great transition after a BOOT

I sprained my ankle and as it was seriously painful to put ANY weight on it, I had to wear a large walking BOOT for 2 weeks. Thankfully, my friend's husband who works in the medical field recommended this brace to transition from the BOOT.
PROs:
- The brace can be worn without the boot attachment and fits fairly well in a variety of shoes.
- It was supportive and streamlined, especially after wearing a bulky BOOT.
- Allowed me to drive my car using my bad ankle.
- Highly adjustable, so I was able to use it even after most of the swelling went down.
- I'm still using now for very active exercise (6 weeks post ankle injury).
CON:
- Be sure to wear a longer sock, so that the brace is not on your bare skin. Not super comfortable without a sock underneath.
**** This was the best investment for my injury. After wearing for 4 weeks, it's in great shape and could be used again.

I have a high ankle sprain (Syndesmotic) which I could barely walk on. A similar non-lacing, pure Velcro-style brace didn't help much. This lacing-style brace takes almost all the pain away and it even allowed me to play 4-wall handball. I can use a compression bandage over the top of this brace for even more support, (in a figure-eight pattern to avoid compressing the Achilles) and still fit in a normal shoe. It is a harder to take on/off than the pure Velcro-style brace but is a lot easier than using an adhesive athletic-tape wrap.
