I cannot recommend these enough!
JD•March 22, 2018
I am a 40-42 waist, 31 inseam and these chaps fit wonderfully! The waist strap WILL accommodate up to at least a 46 waist. These are a little baggy around the knees, and the back thigh strap needs to be loose for comfort, however the bottom three straps keep the chaps nicely strapped to your leg and keep the wood chips out of your shoes. Flexibility is very nice! There is an upside down pocket on the left leg, it has a hole in the snap top (bottom)...I found out the hard way when my scrench fell through the hole. I'll find it after the snows melt! Anyway, the quality/stitching is excellent! They are rugged and they keep my legs from getting banged up/scratched...and more importantly, if the chainsaw does try and bite my leg again. I do believe these chaps will do their job! The other advantage, there is some padding/insulation in the bottom that keep my legs toasty warm walking through knee deep snow. My toes used to be cold in my uninsulated boots, now I come in and my feet are comfortably warm. I do imagine in the heat of summer it won't be so nice, but for winter cutting, these chaps are great!
but it seems like they have more buckles than they need

If this ever saves my leg, I'll update to five stars. They seem very well made, but it seems like they have more buckles than they need, which makes putting them on less convenient. I am six four, with a 34 inch inseam, and they fit and cover well, except for an extremely critical location on my crotch. I don't suppose this is a particularly common spot to land a chainsaw in an accident, but as Husqvarna, I would, if for marketing reasons alone, put a little bit of armor there.
necessary protection

i am 6'4" and this leng was too long for me and i sent them back today and ordered the 36-38" I will say that these albeit kind of pricey for being made in Mexico, they appear robust material and very sound stitching.
there is and external pocket that snaps closed. (maybe for felling wedges?) you can sort of see the side outline of it in the picture on the upper left thigh just below the belt line. there is another pocket that has a zip closure. it too is on the left thigh just below the external pocket mentioned earlier. I call it an internal pocket meaning it is like the design on a pair of jeans but again has a zipper to close it.
i went with the extra cost because 69 other people gave these chaps no less than five stars. I see why and agree. pay the extra dollars. buy once, cry once. these will last.

Great chaps - better safe than regretful
Hard Shopper•April 21, 2017
I'm 6'1" and these are just a bit long - but perfect for me. I wear leather Danners when I saw and I like the excess to lay on the front tongue of my boots. Plus, the excess and calf buckles keep the chaps oriented correctly and secure from twisting to the side. They are quick on and off, and easy to adjust for your clothing. I like to wear shorts when it's really hot and these (open back) chaps provide the needed protection while staying cooler - even if it does look a little weird.
Excellent Piece of Equipment

Purchased a pair of these chaps primarily for the protection they provide around the leg calves. Fortunately, I went through the reviews after finding the two waist sizes available. Based on Scott Kopper's excellent review with discussion of the difference in lengths, I went with the larger size even though my waist is 36" and my inseam is 32" (my height is 6'1"). The smaller size would have been too short in length. The length in this size is just below my ankles and, with boots, is the perfect length for me.
These chaps are well made of durable material with two pockets on the left side of the chaps. One pocket is small, useful for small tools, and the other looks large enough to carry up to an 8" felling wedge. A nice feature are the 3 straps to secure the chaps around the calf along with a strap to secure the chaps to the upper legs.
I purchased the chaps for safety reasons and the price is much cheaper than an emergency room visit. I am confident they will serve their purpose.
