I purchased one locally. The concept is fantastic but there are issues. The vacuum motor is 4.5 VDC which "exactly" matches the batteries. So, as soon as your batteries drop the slightest bit of charge, it stops working. Second, it could easily have come with a power adapter socket. A USB phone charger is 5.5 VDC. If they had a socket, you would only need to put a diode in series to drop 0.7 V and then plug it in to any USB phone charger capable of the amperage (which I never measured.) Since I am an electronics technician, I have modified mine to take a 9 VDC battery and will be adding a mini-USB socket soon as well.

Hit or miss with these. After reading reviews, I picked up two locally. One sealed immediately but the second day it began to run every 25 minutes. I'd put something in it right away, so I'm stuck with it. The other had a tiny leak around the top and never did seal correctly.

Pros: Inexpensive. Innovative. Holds a good amount, probably a whole chopped head of lettuce. After minor cleaning (see below), the one that did seal hasn't run in about 9 hours.

Cons: One of two leaked and will be returned. Cheap materials. Date indicator slides around loosely. You have to be real careful with the release button.

I put "wet" goods in the one I used and stuck it in the fridge. Cold may effect battery life/performance, but I haven't used a set of batteries yet. I left it out and started hearing it run rather frequently during the day. By evening, the food smell saturated the inside of the cover so I took it apart to clean and check for problems. I was stuck with this one anyway. Inside, there's a pump and a little sensor with wires. The tube on the sensor part was kinked inside so I moved it a little. The holes for the pump and seal button needed to be filed with a "mini hobby file set." I also cleaned out all the plastic particles I found on the sealing surfaces and washed the soft rubber parts before putting them back in. It hasn't run all day! I really wish the other one didn't have the tiny defect so I could see if the same fix works!!

Absolutely loved the idea of this product, so I ordered 2. One wouldn't do anything & the other was going off at least once an hour, meaning reseal in its self over and over and over. Drained my new batteries in a day, so I sent them back with a big ol bummed out heart. Wish they just sealed until the air was.let.out and them push the button to seal again, just not the case.

I love the idea, but the battery life is horrible. Since the canister is always cycling the air out the batteries last maybe 2 -3 weeks.

Very easy to use. Looking forward to finding many uses for it!
