Key features

  • TRULY AIRTIGHT, SIMPLY INTUITIVE. Evak is a patented, fully functional innovation. Just push down on the 'lid' and the air is evacuated from the container. Lid acts as a plunger, hear the satisfying whoosh as the air is displaced.
  • FRESHER LONGER. Scientifically proven to keep your coffee flavor locked into the container. Air is the enemy of your food, coffee or tea. The Evak lid has a twin valve system that allows air to be released, while keeping the container firmly closed off. No switches, pumps or levers needed and best yet, valves never need replacing.
  • RESISTS ODORS AND STAINS. Our Evak is built to the highest standards, only heavy duty borosilicate glass and stainless touch your food, coffee or tea. Glass is dishwasher safe and stainless cap and lid are hand wash for best care and longevity. Don't accept substitutes that use thin glass and inferior build quality.
  • GREAT LOOKING PRODUCT. Crystal clear and solidly built, the Evak stores conveniently and looks great on any counter or pantry, a beautiful complement to most kitchen décor. The Evak has now won 4 Internationally recognized awards for its cosmetic design and its practical functionality.

This is nice. At first when new there is allot of suction so u need to be careful or you will break the glass after a bit the lid get broke and it's awesome. Does what it claims except small seemed bigger in the picture and couldn't use it for what I bought for so it's stored til I need it. Did buy the large and that one worked better. I'd still think th xl would be best for what I need but the large works for now.. picture is the large size
Looks attractive and helps keep food fresh.

I keep walnuts and pecans in this container. Keeps them handy and visable. Reduces the amount of air reaching product but not for storing food in indeffinately.

I use this for coffee bean storage. I tried a 'vacuum container' and found that it only reduced the air pressure to about 0.65 bar (reduced pressure by about 35%), so 65% of the oxygen partial pressure remains. I used altimeter watch (barometric) to measure. Instead, I got this airtight container. This container fits closely on top of the beans reducing the ullage space to zero. But wait! There's more: the interstitial space still remains, so I attached a canula to a CO2 cartridge-based bike tire filler and used it (starting with the canula at the bottom of the container) to fill the container full of coffee beans with CO2. Roasted coffee outgasses CO2 naturally. I think this is a pretty straight-forward solution. The nice thing with the CO2 is that you can check to be sure the gas level is at the top of the container by sniffing the container opening. The CO2 is heavy and has a pungent 'smell'. If I used helium, it would float away, if I used argon I wouldn't be sure the container was full. Anyway, works great; every time I get beans for coffee, I refill the container with CO2, sniff to verify gas blanket extends to top of container, and replace top, displacing excess CO2 while the interstitials remain filled with the CO2. Done and done.
