We ate the 1 of the sloppy joes. We were very happy with it. We had MRE's following hurricane Katrina and this tasted better.

This is the second case of these MREs I have gotten. I have no issue with the things and the creation date is a good indicator of how long they will last. As several people have stated you can get at least 10 years out of these without trying. Mine never last that long because I let my students try them to show them what we are feeding our troops when they go into various places in the world.
I like the pasta. I prefer the spaghetti but will eat most any of them. Regardless, this is a great value for the money. These come in at right around 4 dollars each delivered. It really isnt much considering what you get. I have some of the full day Military rations my father got for me and even where he got them they were 9 dollars each. So, considering this you get a good deal for the money. I eat them when I dont feel like cooking and have yet to be disappointed. There are some I dont like but I tend to avoid them.

Civillian version of a military MRE

Very similar to the Government Issued MRE's but do not contain the accessory packet. These meals are just as good and the price is affordable. The variety of meals are limited and you get two of the same meals. Great for emergency hunger attacks.
Unbeatable value by weight of food

Now, compared to the genuine military MRE this simply cannot compare. The genuine military MREs taste better and include extra condiments such as coffee, drink bags, caffeine mints, etc.
However at this price, I really can not complain. By weight of food, this is the best value you will ever get on the market. Highly recommended if you're on a budget for MREs.

If your expectations are set right, this product is exactly what you'd think it is. There is some variety of meals-- mostly some kind of pasta or stew-- they come with a piece of candy, pop tarts, crackers/jam, and the heater. All of my heaters worked fine, and the meals were as good as you'd expect. The meals come with a little packed of salt-free seasoning, which is surprisingly tasty.
When I bought these meals, I also got a box of the Eversafe MREs (I was stocking up for a month of fieldwork in an inaccessible area). In general both were good, and very similar. The Eversafe MREs tend to have better and more varied side dishes, but the Sure-Pak meals all came with pop-tarts, which were always welcome in the field. The heaters in the Sure Pak meals seemed to be a little better, but all heaters worked.
