Gets hot and it has never tripped it so I'm not sure if it works. I have a freezer plugged in it in the garage and some time's it gets wet after a big rain and it never trips off.

Really handy, I keep this in toolbox and use it each time I plug in any of my older corded tools.

Seems solid. Bought to use on a boat where they switch out generators often so there are surges of power sometimes. People were having their phones die and i think this might have been the problem. This should remedy that situation.
Happy to be safe than sorry

Overall I am pretty happy that something like this is available for purchase. I don't find it hot as some reviewers seem to have experienced. But my device is low voltage so that may be the reason.
Excellent product. I've ordered three so far with no problems.

I've had one of these for almost a year and it has worked flawlessly.
I just ordered and received two more units.
I tested both units with an Amprobe receptacle tester.
Both checked out OK with regard to proper wiring.
The GFCI was successfully tripped by both the built in GFCI test button and the GFCI test button on the Amprobe.
The reset buttons on both units also functioned properly.
Some reviewers have noted that their units run quite hot and draw a lot of current.
Both of my units are barely warm to the touch after having been plugged in for twenty four hours.
I used a clamp meter, a volt meter and an AC line splitter to measure power consumption with nothing plugged into the units.
Both units measured almost exactly 1.5 watts power consumption.
This is about one third of the power consumed by an old fashioned incandescent night light.
1.5 watts is a very small price to pay for the life saving protection offered by these units.
Based on my observations, if the unit you get runs hot then something is wrong and I would recommend returning it.
If it runs barely warm and seems to be functioning properly then it is a normally functioning unit.
I have ordered three of these units with no problems.
I feel comfortable betting my life that these are quality units, functioning properly.
