These rings were the perfect size to create a pest screen to go over my sloped ceiling cans on my porch. The cans were 8.25" in diameter from the outer rim. These rings are 8.625" diameter from the outer rim. I drilled 4 small holes 1/8" in from the rim, which insured they would clear my can rim. Then I spray painted them, cut fiberglass screening to fit, glued it on the back, positioned it over the can and screwed it into the ceiling. No more wasps and bats roosting in my porch lights. Added benefit is that it cuts down the glare and brightness of the LED bulbs!

I recently moved into a house that was built in 1977. Throughout the house there are light cans that measured in excess of the 6" and I could not find any LED retro lights wide enough to fill the opening. I replaced an incandescent light fixture in our shower with a new 6 inch LED fixture. Unfortunately, the LED was somewhat smaller, resulting in a hole in the marble ceiling. I bought these trim rings to cover the hole. They look nice and do that job well.

We have some older cam lights that have holes larger than standard, so when I bought standard replacement bulbs there was a huge gap around several of the lights. Instead of buying a special light that would've probably cost significantly more, I bought these and they covered that gap perfectly. I went to home depot hoping they would have something like this, but they had nothing to solve my issue. Im not sure why they don't carry these, but 2 day shipping is perfectly fine with me. I highly recommend this product
Beats fixing drywall

Used these to cover up some beat up drywall beyond the edge of the LED light trim. Worked nicely and now I don't have to fix drywall problems. The color is a tad off. It has almost a bluish hue to it that doesn't match the LED lights I have. Close enough though, and it isn't like anyone will be staring up at it. Glad I got the "extra wide" rings, as I needed the slightly wider diameter.
