Versatile and portable

This lamp looks nice, and works as advertised. If you want/need some accent lighting, I would recommend this, as it is quite versatile by not requiring to be plugged in at all times, though the battery only lasts about 3.5 hours. Also, the cord is replaceable (theoretically...they don't sell them, so good luck...but at least you can use a cord from a second device to charge in the meantime).
It's definitely different than the other lights, though, in that it can only be controlled through the hue bridge when it is on (or in standby mode, which only lasts 2 hours). Also, being portable makes you think about it a little more when you do configure it on the bridge (I made a separate room for it, since it bounces around rooms).
The downsides are that it isn't especially stable when sitting at an angle...it was very easy for my cats to knock it over, and the face scratches very easily. While the light still works, and the scratches don't affect the light, it makes you sad to see the scratches when the light is off.

Wife and I love lamp! Produces a decent amount of light and the color range is amazing. Unfortunately it does require a Philips Hub to take advantages of wireless control and color changing. If you don't have a hub you can still change the colors by using the button on the back of the light.
I have read numerous reviews saying the light won't sit on it's side plugged it. Those are false. Rotate the power cord and the light actually uses the plug as a stand. Note, it is a little snug so be careful when unplugging it.
1st generation Amazon Echos require a Hub to use voice control. The Echo Plus (2nd gen) has a built in hub.

First, I'm a loyal Philips HUE customer, I own about ten HUE lights. The "refurbished" product I received today looks NOTHING like the website picture, description or what appears on the box. I took a pic so you can look at it yourself. Furthermore, it does NOT link with the HUE bridge, most lights sync with little effort - after an hour the light didn't sync at all. On closer inspection, there is NO Phillips logo anywhere on the device. It appears very cheaply made. I literally felt like I got scammed, most of my amazon purchases are great, this is one of those exceptions.
Neat idea, but battery life sucks.

This light is a cool idea, but the battery life is horrid. It says that it can be "up to 3 hours". That could only be possible if the light was set to the dimmest setting, which practically you probably wouldnt do. So I keep it plugged in most of the time. When its plugged in it doesnt sit up all that well, in which case its just pointing straight up. I love Philips Hue products, but this was a disappointment.

These are great. Really good color variation and brightness, they can even be used as strobes. I have a dozen of them in a piece of furniture designed for shoes and control them using the Hue Disco app on my iphone. Another excellent Philips Hue product.
