It's very pretty, seals well, and looks like a camera lense no doubt, but you have to open it to drink. It's not like the travel mug, more like a thermos. No opening on the lid to drink out of it.

Got two of these at Christmas to give my budding twin photographers and one first thought it was a real lens. They both seem to like it. The labels and gadgets on the exterior of the cup render it to being handwash only, so being that I gave it to college guys, we'll see just how long that'll last. Perfect gift for your photo enthusiast that seems to have everything or a list of equipment way out of your price range.

I got the version with the plastic clear lid that mostly resembles a real lens. and it is terrible. The cup gets the awe factor and it is a neat novelty item but not a great on the go coffee cup at all. This lid has no slot for drinking through it. It seals tight. Which would be great except that heat expands and when it does and you try to open it, you get hot coffee forces out the edges under pressure. Not fun at all.
I should have gotten the sippy style lid, would have been much happier with it. I am going to take a Dremel to the one I got and make it a sippy lid.

I bought this mug as a gift for my brother. He absolutely loves this traveling mug because he can carry it around with him on the go. He is a cinematographer and thinks it is so funny that he has a mug that looks like a lens. He was surprised at how realistic it looks.
