A very good product for the price

Some of the stems were a little brown and decaying, though that's assumed with this type of plant. While it IS beginner friendly, anything to mess up the plant and it will stop growing roots. It did shed a little along with making my water yellow, though upon further inspection, the water didn't change besides the colour. This product is worth the money, I was given about four 6-8 inch stems! Hornwart is native to Ohio, where I live. I'm getting some northern American salamanders so hopefully they like it as much as I do!
Fast coverage.

I bought only one bunch for my 7 gallon cube aquarium. It shipped in 85 degree weather and the package was delayed by a day. I was afraid that when I finally got it it would be dead, but there was only a little browning. I rinsed them in tap water, then in dechlorinated tap water and placed them all in the back of my aquarium. It hasn't even been a week and they have grown at least 3 inches. The top broke off of one when I was planting them so I planted it too. It was sticking about an inch out of the substrate at first. Now it's around 4 inches tall. If you want to fill a tank with green fast and cheap, these are your ticket. They are pearling quite a bit too. Also, I don't see any snails. Either my rinsing worked, or they just weren't there. I wouldn't care if there were though. 95% of aquatic snails you might encounter are only going to eat your plants if they are dead. I only wish my small hair grass would spread as fast. The "lawn" I planted in front looks like a teenagers beard.
All in all good plant, just be aware of mess

Packaging wise I wasn't very happy with it, it was in a small box in just a sealed bag with no water, and the delivery person I have just loves to put my live plants in my mailbox even though the box says in plain English, red letters, don't do that 😤. So I was worried they wouldn't make it, but they perked up after I got them in my tank.

This was my first time with hornwort but I was still pleased with it. Warning to those who don't know, the needles WILL FALL OFF ALL OVER THE TANK IN A MESS... but as long as you gravel vac your tank regularly it isn't too bad.

I at first had them planted in the soil and they grew double their size in a week, but after that they fell apart and were more stem than needles. I then found out it was a floating plant. 🤦ðŸ½"â'€ï¸

I uprooted it and let it float and I have so much of it now 😱 my guppy fry love to hide in it andI find my mystery snails hanging from the middle of the tank on it somehow 😂😂

All in all, good plant, just be aware of the mess it makes.
Not bad

The packaging was nothing special, but it was sealed to keep it moist which was nice. Obviously the plant was not in the best of health when it arrived. A lot of brown sections that needed to be removed. I did have the plant shipped in the winter. It definitely had some parts that were salvageable and it had more than enough good parts to get me started.
Great for a shrimp tank. Fast growth makes you feel good about your tank.

Wow! These grow fast, which makes me feel like my tank is healthy. (May be, may not be, but it feels good). My Crystal Red shrimp love to hang out in these. My mistake, which I plan to fix soon, is that I used them as a background plant due to their height. I'm going to move some up front so I can watch the shrimp that hang out in them. The growth at the back of the tank is nice and thick, but the shrimp hide there too much.

It's true that you have to trim them frequently, but that's ok. Not like they're algae or something bad, so I don't mind. I let it grow for a while, then go in and trim. I throw the trimmings in another small tank and let them float. The cutting I received came bunched with lead wrapped around one end, and I just buried that in my substrate. Looks like a normal planted plant even though they're supposed to just float.
