- •Teething Necklaces are not for baby to chew on. The Amber releases microscopic amounts of oil, as it warms with the body's natural temperature, that is absorbed into the skin and bloodstream. Baltic Amber contains succinic acid (anti-fever, anti-inflammatory), the compound that gives Baltic Amber teething necklaces the therapeutic quality. Baltic amber is an organic substance, a "fossil resin" produced by pine trees which grew in Northern Europe. By having the baby wear the necklace everyday it helps reduce the common symptoms related to teething such as: red cheeks, fever, swollen gums, and diaper rash.

Super cute!

I love this necklace! Not only is it very pretty, I truly believe the minerals from the amber help with the pain of teething.
Love Amber necklaces!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these teething necklaces. My daughter started to outgrow her smaller 9" teething necklace, so I got this one as a replacement. I took her old one off and didn't get this one until the next day and I noticed a change in her attitude immediately. She was fussy and clingy and just slobbering a lot. The next day when I put this new one on she had such a better day! I firmly believe and tell every new mom and even moms of older kids about these necklaces. I am a huge advocate of amber and really notice a difference with and without one on. It is like night and day, honestly.
We have used teething necklaces since around 3 months. My daughter is 1.5 and this fits awesome, with room to grown. I'd say it would fit a younger baby but just be sure to measure and order accordingly! I prefer unpolished over polished! I even did the water test with this one (2 cups water 1/4 cup salt) and if it floats it is real amber and if it sinks it is fake and it defiantly floated! This is defiantly worth the investment!
Information you want to know about amber necklaces: these are NOT meant to be chewed on. If your baby can put it in their mouth then it is too long! These are also individually beaded, therefore, if it breaks off, you won't have beads going every which way and causing a choking hazard-simply only one will come off! If the necklace is too long you can tie it in a knot, this will cause it to be shorter in length but will not affect your baby or the necklace in any way, and once it starts to get tight, you can remove the knot.
Do your research on amber and decide if it fits your family, but trust me-you're missing out if you do not get one of these necklaces sooner rather than later!
I received this item at a discounted cost for my honest review!

2nd child to wear these 24-7 and I really do think it helps. My husband the skeptic also came around and is a believer now! LOL
A teething life saver!

This necklace arrived in an adorable bag and would make a perfect gift to a new mom! I did a lot of research before trying an amber necklace and wanted to share my knowledge after using them repeatedly for my child.
The beads are made of baltic amber, which is not actually a gemstone, but a resin. When this resin is warmed by the skin of the wearer, it releases a tiny amount of healing oil that is said to have analgesic properties. In other words, keeping this resin in contact with the skin can provide some relief from pain in areas near where the resin lies. Thus giving the wearer relief from the mouth area while being worn as a necklace.
Amber necklaces used on babies and young children are often called amber teething necklaces. This phrase can be a little bit of a misnomer because the necklaces are not to be chewed. In fact, one of the number one considerations when fitting an amber necklace for a child is to make sure that the necklace is too short for the baby or toddler to put the beads into his or her mouth.
The beads are strung together with string, not plastic polymer, leather or metal. String breaks away when put under stress. If the necklace were to get caught on anything, the necklace is manufactured to break. You'll notice that the clasp is a screw closure, making it easy to pop apart. In addition, the string can break away. I have never personally had any of our amber necklaces break on one of my children, but it has popped out of the clasp.
The string is knotted between each bead. If the necklace were to break for any reason, the knots between each bead will keep the beads from spinning off in every direction and becoming a choking hazard. While neither of my children have broken a necklace, I did accidentally break an amber bracelet once. It worked in exactly that way - there was no avalanche of beads all over the floor. We only lost the one bead that was on the piece of string that broke and, due to the pressure of the break, that bead went shooting off so far away that we never saw it again!
As a mom, here is my personal experience: by the time a baby is old enough to control his or her hands reliably (6-9 months with my own children), he or she is also strong enough to wrench away and completely break the necklace if it were to become entangled. A baby under 6 months old wearing a necklace that is appropriately short should actually not be able to accidentally snag the necklace at all, because it should be lying very closely against the neck and they simply do not have the hand control at that point in their lives.
As for effectiveness, my testimony as a mom is that baltic amber has been effective for our family. While it does not relieve all the pain of teething, it has visibly increased my children's comfort. There were several nights after a bath where one of us forgot to put the necklace back onto the child and that child went on to have an extremely restless night and day because the teething pain was no longer being relieved.
If you have additional concerns about safety, it is common for parents to remove the necklace during sleep and loop multiple times around the ankle before reclasping. I always left it around the neck as to increase the effectiveness and as long as a good fit is achieved, there isn't a need to take this precaution from how I see it.
I received this product at a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I am in no way affiliated with Baltic Creations and the opinion expressed herein and true and whole. Should the product fail in any way in the future, I will update my review to reflect that.

Strongly Recommend, stopped my drool factory =)
Ellie•March 6, 2016
My baby started teething before she even hit three months old! She is my first so while I thought she was teething I talked to my sister about it and told her what I thought and the signs she was showing (putting fists in her mouth, excessive drool, crying differently, and gumming down on my fingers), my sister agreed she was probably drooling and told me that her daughters teethed for months before they popped their first tooth.
Once I established I had a teething infant I went to the store to get something to help her with the pain. I bought these mesh feeding baggies figuring I could freeze breastmilk and put a cube in there to help her... they choked her. I found a fruit feeder with a handle she can grab where I can freeze breastmilk directly in it and she either loves or hates it depending on her mood. She has a few different teethers including 2 nuby kinds and a jel type that goes in the fridge. She doesn't always like/want a teether and still was in pain at times so I sent my husband to the store for baby orajel. He went to Dollar general and they had orajel in the baby section, so he assumed it was fine for babies... nope, has to be BABY orajel. I picked some natural baby orajel up later. Pretty much we tried a lot of things to help her with her teething pain, my sister recommended these.
When my sister recommended these I was more than a little skeptical on if they would work or not, and more than a little nervous about putting a necklace on my newborn... isn't that a choking risk!? While my sister swore by it and said if I didn't want it on her neck I could always loop it around her ankle.
I got the chance to try this necklace at a discount in exchange for an honest review so I decided I would go ahead and try it out.
The day before my baby wore this necklace she drooled more than a little. I literally changed her 3 times in one day because her top was SOAKED in her saliva. Her favorite thing to do was blow spit bubbles and actually spit, usually on me but herself or daddy were fine with her too. I started putting bibs on her to manage her drool and had to change her bib because it was soaked.
Day #1 we got the necklace she was still spitting and I was more than a little skeptic so I was expecting the necklace not to work and kind of dismissed it.
Today is Day 2 and she spit for the first time an hour ago! If you knew how much my daughter HAD been spitting that is pretty much a miracle! She is still drooling but not anywhere close to the amount she was before. Before I joked that we needed to find a way to market her drool as a product and we could get rich because she had a never ending supply... we could send it to places with a drought and turn them into a luscious green zone.
I can seriously NOT recommend this product enough. It has stopped my little drool factory, now she just drools as much as her daddy (when he is sleeping ;) ). She still had some teething pain today three times but frozen breast milk in a feeder and her fist were enough to content her.
I also want to say this product is actually REALLY cute! My daughter wears it around her neck during the day and her ankle at night.
If this review helped you then please vote it helpful. I did receive this product at a discount in exchange for my review, but my review is 100% my own honest feelings on this.
EDIT: She has had this a few day and while day 2 was awesome today she had a LOT of drool and teething pain so I dropped it to 4 stars instead of 5. I still think it helps, and it can't hurt but it isn't as amazing as I thought day 2.
