I'm 66 years old and stand daily at my office desk (often 7-9 hours) for the past 10 years. I did it originally for my back but have found that overall, standing seems to help everything. Just got this mat a few weeks ago but I can testify that it already makes a huge difference in how I feel at day's end! I rotate it around every hour or so and find that I am much less fatigued and also my leg muscles are better toned. I do a variety of exercises with it while standing in position answering emails. I encourage you to try one and also to be careful at first because it's much different than a flat mat, and so it's easier to trip until you get acclimated to the various elevations and contours.....

Very worthwhile investment!

I switched to a standing desk a few years ago on a whim, just BOOM"”all in, cold turkey. Okay, let me level with you: the first six months were hard, because I had no mat. I went home, and my feet hurt like a waiter's, even though I'm an effete knowledge worker. So I used my work workstation to look at The Wirecutter, and they recommended a flat mat. It was a revelation! I'd go home, and my feet were happy. But stay with me, this gets better.

I was so happy, I told my colleague "get a mat! Get the one The Wirecutter recommends!" But listen friends, this is where the twist is. She ended up with THIS mat, because The Wirecutter changed their recommendation. It set my mind reeling. If The Wirecutter recommendation can change, what can you even trust in this crazy world? After I got over the death of objective Truth, I tried this mat for a day. Boys and girls, my life changed again.

Now when I go home, not only are my feet happy, but my back is happier. And I'm less tired. How does this magic happen? I don't know, I don't ask questions, I just freestyle on this mat like a tiny foam skate park for your feets. Needless to say, I ordered a Topo and never looked back, until TODAY. Now that I've told this story, let us never speak of flat mats ever again.

Been standing while working for a few months now and I was previously using an anti-fatigue kitchen type mat. I've been anxious to get my feet on this mat for quite some time and I'm glad I finally did. It offers a ton of comfort -- more than what I had before -- and also some great "rails" and variations to keep you moving during the day. You can move both your feet into different positions and angles and even do calf raises off the back. It's super solid and easily slips under the desk when you don't need it. So glad I picked this up. My feet are happy.

I purchased a standup desk a few months back and immediately noticed my lower back starting to hurt when I was standing directly on the carpet. I did a ton of research and I am BEYOND happy with this mat. I love the different angles that this mat provides opposed to the other flat mats I tired. I've noticed that I am able to stand for hours without getting fatigued and NO LOWER BACK PAIN. My feet are able to shift to the different areas of the mat to give me better support. I highly recommend this product, its worth the extra money and is very thick.

Tested the Topo Mat based on an ad/review from the E-Newsletter The Hustle. I bought it for my wife who has a (manual) sit-stand desk at work, and has had issues with her comfort while working. For many years she has been a fan, and a past retail salesperson, of ergonomic back products including Temperpedic mattresses, Ergonomic Desk Chairs, Anti-Gravity chairs and other tools tools for comfort and pain relief. She liked the Topo immediately, and felt in her leg muscles that the mat works for her within a day or two of trying it. As we read up on it more she decided that she wants the Topo Mini, which we will order tonight.

We had recently purchased an electric sit-stand desk from Ikea, and have brought our original purchase, the standard larger Topo mat, home, where we will share it. Thank you for this design, and for the opportunity to review it.

A thought as I complete this review; it seems that a kitchen floor mat, and or a garage/shop floor mat might be a good follow up.
