I love this thing. Now that it's hooked up it's awesome!! Very convenient and my kids are even able to turn on the fireplace. Very helpful in controlling the flame too. High/Medium/Low settings are perfect. I can't say enough about this contraption!!
On the other hand, I must say that the instructions were written for a professional plumber or fireplace expert. It's good that I'm a contractor and have worked with gas fittings in the past. Make sure to think this install through and know what the device does and how it connects to your existing fireplace. Luckily my retrofit went easily and we're very happy with it! Cheers to the manufacturer!!

I was tired of always looking for a lighter to light the fireplace. Ours has a little key you turn that supplies the gas. I now just leave the key on in the winter. Will turn off valve and key for summertime.
