We use it for snagging limbs that fall off some of the willows into our pond. We use a 3/8" braided nylon 50' rope. We've dragged out some rather large diameter limbs of considerable length without bending it. The secret is not to pull as hard as possible (or hook it to a vehicle such as an ATV or tractor). Just keep a steady pull and the limb will eventually start moving.

Smaller than I thought but did work as needed. Use it to drag bottom of lake around my pier so grandkids can swim.
