I always thought PG Tips was the quintessential British style tea and always thought it quite good. I also live near Canada and like the Red Rose Orange Pekoe they sell over there, but I ran low and didn't plan to visit Canada very soon. So after reading reviews, I tried some of the Yorkshire Tea through Amazon. Really like it. It has a fresh taste and it definitely gives me a lift mid-afternoon. I plan on making this one my "daily driver" from now on.
It's better than PG Tips? Maybe, it depends

I ordered this on a whim, as my favorite, PG Tips was going to take several days to arrive. I was intrigued by the text describing this as a family company etc. Well, it turns out that i really like this tea. No science, just preference I suppose. I would describe it as a mild black tea. Maybe like English Breakfast flavor. No weird Earl Gray kind of flavor or any of the silly herbal tea frou-frou stuff. I steep it for 4 minutes or so and then a second cup/time for at least 6 minutes. I use whole milk. A thing I learned living in England in 1974 for several months. It's great. And the price is excellent.

I have a subscription for Yorkshire Gold, but it wasn't available for my latest delivery. I decided to try Yorkshire Tea as the substitution. It's turned out to be a good choice. The red label tea comes in sachets like U.S. brands, namely Lipton and Luzianne, but it offers a rich yet mellow flavor unapproached by the Amertican teas. I prefer my tea very strong, yet it always maintains a smoothness unlike few other black teas. I may rotate between the two Yorkshire types,but I won't be disappointed, no matter what's in my mug.
